Free-agent QB Aaron Rodgers (Jets) could be cheap if the Los Angeles Rams opt to sign him, according to sources.

Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford is likely to remain with the team, in the opinion of SNY's Connor Hughes. Hughes opines that Stafford's ability to talk with other teams is to determine his value, which the Rams would likely offer in a revised deal.
Footballguys view: This Stafford deal is all over the place. There are reports about three of four teams being interested in Stafford, and a market price is being determined. He wants a deal that pays him $50 million per year, and he might be able to get that number. Now, the Rams may be considering hanging onto him. As always, the truth will come out so stay tuned. |

New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers, who is expected to be released at some point this offseason, reportedly prefers to sign with the Los Angeles Rams if Matthew Stafford is traded, according to multiple sources. Furthermore, multiple sources suggest Rodgers could convince WR Davante Adams, who is scheduled to count $38.34 million against New York's salary cap in 2025, to join him with the Rams in the likely event Adams is released.
Footballguys view: Adams and Rodgers seem like a package deal no matter where he lands (expect maybe the Raiders?). The Rams have to move on from Stafford first before they consider adding Rodgers. After that, we'll see if Adams follows his friend to his new team. |

Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford has received trade interest from the New York Giants, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers and Las Vegas Raiders.
Footballguys view: Another day, and more Stafford news coming out of the NFL. Stafford would immediately make a team like the Steelers Super Bowl contenders. The Giants, Browns, and Raiders have further to go but he's a clear upgrade over what they've got or any options they could have. We'll see if some team is interested in making a trade with the Rams. |

Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford is seeking a new contract that pays him $50 million annually, according to sources Monday, Feb. 24.
Footballguys view: There are rumblings that at least three teams have expressed interest in trading for Stafford. If some team adds him via trade, they will most likely have a contract situation already in mind. The Steelers, Raiders, and Giants are among the teams rumored to be interested in the veteran quarterback. |

Link to storyLos Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford and the team have had multiple discussions about upgrading Stafford's contract, which calls for him to make $35 million in 2025 - none of which is guaranteed. However, in the opinion of ESPN's Adam Schefter, former New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers would be 'thrilled with the idea of going to Los Angeles' if Stafford is traded.

Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford appears likely to return to the Rams next season, sources told ESPN.com's Dan Graziano.
Footballguys view: More than one fanbase is dreaming of the possibility of Stafford playing for their team next season, but the staying with the Rams is probably the best option for both parties. The team will likely need to adjust his contract, but he's happy with the direction the offense is headed even though the team is likely to move on from Cooper Kupp in the offseason. |

Los Angeles Rams DE Jared Verse was named The Associated Press' Defensive Rookie of the Year Thursday, Feb. 6.
Footballguys view: Look at what happens when the Rams actually keep their first round pick. Verse was the first player the Rams have selected in the first round in Sean McVay era, and he made them look very smart for doing it. The team also traded up in the second round to reunite him with college teammate Braden Fiske. Their defense was peaking at the end of the season and were it not for some big Saquon Barkley runs in the divisional round, they might have helped the team get back to the Super Bowl. |
Los Angeles Rams impending free-agent WR Tutu Atwell is unlikely to re-sign with the team.
Footballguys view: A second-round pick in 2021, Atwell's rookie contract is up and he's going to draw interest from teams looking for a deep threat. In 2024, Atwell had a career-high 42 catches for 562 yards but he didn't score any touchdowns. We'll see what kind of market he has when free agency opens. |

Former New England Patriots outside linebackers coach Drew Wilkins is expected to be named as the new pass-rush coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams, according to a source.
Link to storyLos Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp said he has been informed by the team that they will look to trade him this offseason.
Footballguys view: Kupp shared on social media on Monday night that the Rams were looking to trade him "immediately" and that they were "working with me and my family to find the right place to continue competing for championships." Further specifics on what that deal would look like, or when it will come down, are not yet known. We do know that Kupp, who has spent his entire career with the Rams, would prefer to remain with the club. "I don't agree with the decision and always believed it was going to begin and end in LA," the veteran wideout wrote. The 31-year-old has two years left on his three-year, $80 million deal. He is owed $20 million next season and just shy of $20 million in 2026. |

Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford plans to play next season but it is not known if he will be playing for the Rams, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Footballguys view: As he showed in 2024, Stafford can still play at a high level. The Rams are a playoff team so long as Stafford is the starter. Stafford is due a non-guaranteed $27 million in the final year of his contract. We'll see the Rams and Stafford work something out to get him some guaranteed money for 2025. |

Los Angeles Rams TE Tyler Higbee said he will return for the 2025 season.
Footballguys view: Higbee only played in three regular season games in 2024. A late-season knee injury in 2023 kept him out of action, but now he's got the offseason to get back to full strength. In 2025, Higbee has a cap number of $9.6 million with $6.2 million remaining in dead money. |

Los Angeles Rams OT Rob Havenstein recently said that he would like to take several weeks to think about his future and listen to what his body tells him before deciding whether he wanted to return for the 2025 season. He would be entering the final season of a three-year, $34.5 million contract extension that he signed in 2022. There is no remaining guaranteed money on Havenstein's deal and a cap number of $11.3 million.
Link to storyLos Angeles Rams impending free-agent WR Demarcus Robinson said that he would like to return to the Rams next season. He established career highs in receiving yards (505) and touchdowns (seven) during the 2024 season.
Footballguys view: Those seven touchdowns are valuable to what the Rams want to do on offense. The speed Robinson brings to the field stretches things out in Sean McVay's system. On the open market, we can't imagine Robinson getting that much attention. Staying with the Rams in a field-stretching no.3 role is likely best - and it sounds like he wants to stay. |

Los Angeles Rams RB Kyren Williams is a candidate to receive a contract extension this offseason, according to head coach Sean McVay.
Footballguys view: A fifth-round pick out of Notre Dame a few years ago, Williams is entering the final year of his rookie contract. Williams did have problems with injuries in 2022 and 2023, but last season he played in 16 games. He's a key piece of what the Rams do on offense, and Williams proved he can handle a larger workload. We should see an extension done sometime this offseason. |
Los Angeles Rams DT Braden Fiske (knee) will need to undergo a procedure on the knee injury he suffered during the Divisional Round playoff game but should be ready for the start of the 2025 season, according to head coach Seam McVay.
Link to storyLos Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford (ribs) suffered four cracked ribs during the Week 15 win over the San Francisco 49ers but continued to play through the injury, his wife, Kelly, announced on her podcast. During the Divisional Round loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Stafford aggravated the injury.
Footballguys view: Stafford is one of the toughest quarterbacks in the NFL. He turns 37 years old later this year and may decide to play one more season. Stafford said he will â€"take some time to think about it†when asked about his playing future. |

Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp said he plans to continue his playing career and hopes to stay with the Rams but does not know what the team will do this offseason.
Footballguys view: "Who knows what is going to happen?" Kupp said. "A lot of stuff is out of my control. I don't have any clarity on what that's gonna look like. Obviously would love to be in L.A. but I don't know what that is gonna look like." Kupp finished the regular season with 67 catches for 710 yards and six touchdowns in 12 games. As The Athletic's Jordan Rodrigue noted, the veteran wideout's targets dwindled during the back stretch of the regular season and into the playoffs. He had four catches on nine targets over the last three regular-season games, was targeted once for one catch against Minnesota in the wild-card round, and caught five passes on seven targets against the Eagles on Sunday. In his 14 games (including the postseason), Kupp had 10 or more targets just four times and eight or more targets six times. Kupp finished the season as WR36, but his per-game average (14.6 points) ranked 23rd. |

Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford said he would take some time before deciding on his NFL future, following the playoff loss to the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday, Jan. 19, but he added that he 'sure feels like' that he has football left in him.
Footballguys view: Stafford, 36, has two years remaining on his contract, one he and the Rams worked to adjust heading into training camp this season. Rams coach Sean McVay declined to answer a postgame question Sunday about Stafford's future, saying, "I'm not really interested in talking about anything as it relates to next year. Right now, I'm just appreciative of this team." Though Stafford said he hadn't made any decisions about his future, when recounting the end of the game, he spoke about the next time he was on the field. "I love competing," he said. "It didn't go the way I wanted to today. Next time I'm out there, line it up. Let's do it again." Stafford's return would offer continuity for those invested in Puka Nacua and the other offensive pieces in Los Angeles. We'll watch for more on this. |

The Los Angeles Rams were eliminated by the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Divisional Round. QB Matthew Stafford completed 26-of-44 passes for 324 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions, while running for five yards with one fumble lost. RB Kyren Williams had 19 carries for 106 yards, also had a lost fumble in the snow and ice. WR Puka Nacua ended up with six receptions for 97 yards on 14 targets, while WR Demarcus Robinson added three grabs for 74 yards, and WR Cooper Kupp snagged five balls for 61 yards on seven targets. TE Tyler Higbee ended up with seven receptions for 54 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets, and TE Colby Parkinson had two catches for nine yards and a score. DE Jared Verse had four solo stops, two sacks and three tackles for loss with two quarterback hits, while DT Neville Gallimore had a sack for a safety.
Footballguys view: The Rams came very close to an incredible comeback and showed that they can play in the cold and snow despite being from Los Angeles. They were able to slow down a relentless Eagles pass rush with a no huddle drive after falling behind 28-15 late in the fourth quarter and then got into the red zone on a potential game-winning last second drive. The Rams were on the brink of giving up on the season and trading Cooper Kupp before a win over the Vikings turned their season around. Their defense finished strong and the team is very young and should be the favorites to win the division next season. The biggest offseason question is whether the team will pay Kupp the $5 million guarantee of a $7.5 million roster bonus on March 15. Kupp is also due $12.5 in non-guaranteed salary next season. Ballyhooed sixth round rookie Jordan Whittington would move into Kupp's role if the Rams decide to move on from him. |

Updating previous reports, Los Angeles Rams TE Tyler Higbee (chest) was able to travel home with the team on Monday, Jan. 13, and is expected to play in the Divisional Round game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Jan. 19.
Footballguys view: Rams head coach Sean McVay said that while Higbee went to the hospital because he was spitting up blood, the issue was not serious. As Profootballtalk.com suggests, that's a boost for the Rams' offense, as Higbee was a significant part of the team's game plan for Monday night. Despite exiting the contest during the second quarter, he still finished as the team's leading receiver with five catches for 58 yards. Higbee, 32, was activated off of the reserve/physically unable to perform list in mid-December after he tore his ACL and MCL during Los Angeles' playoff loss to Detroit last year. |

Rams tight end Tyler Higbee was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition after suffering a chest injury during Los Angeles' 27-9 wild card victory over Minnesota, head coach Sean McVay said in his postgame press conference. "It was just something with his chest," McVay said. "I think he's going to be OK."
Footballguys view: McVay said he was unsure of Higbee's availability going forward. As Profootballtalk.com noted, Higbee was a significant part of the game plan against the Vikings with the Rams using plenty of two tight-end sets early. Despite exiting the game in the first half, Higbee finished as the team's leading receiver with 58 yards on five receptions. Higbee recently returned from a torn ACL and MCL during Los Angeles' playoff loss to Detroit last year. After playing on Monday night, the Rams will have a short week to prepare to play the Eagles in the divisional round on Sunday afternoon. We'll follow up on Higbee as developments warrant. |

The Los Angeles Rams topped the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC wild-card game, led by QB Matthew Stafford who was 19-of-27 for 209 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. RB Kyren Williams ran 16 times for 76 yards, while adding three receptions for 16 yards and a score. TE Tyler Higbee had five receptions for a team-high 58 yards before checking out with an injury. WR Puka Nacua was the top wideout with five catches for 44 yards on nine targets, while WR Cooper Kupp had a lone 29-yard reception on his only target. WR Demarcus Robinson also had a 23-yard reception on his only offensive touch on two targets, while TE Davis Allen had a 13-yard touchdown grab on his only reception. DE Jared Verse had a 57-yard fumble recovery for touchdown, too, while DT Neville Gallimore and LB Byron Young each had 1.5 sacks apiece. DT Kobie Turner had four total stops, two solo tackles, two sacks, two tackles for loss and two quarterback hits, while S Quentin Lake had team highs with nine total stops and six solo tackles.
