Eagles | Joe Douglas hired by Eagles Mon May 19, 11:28 AM
Former New York Jets general manager Joe Douglas was hired by the Philadelphia Eagles in a senior scouting role Monday, May 19.
Link to storyPhiladelphia Eagles fourth-round draft choice DT Ty Robinson (Nebraska) signed his four-year rookie contract on Thursday, May 15. Financial terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.
Link to storyPhiladelphia Eagles LB Nolan Smith (triceps) is expected to be ready for the start of the 2025 regular season.
Link to storyPhiladelphia Eagles TEs Dallas Goedert and Grant Calcaterra are locks to make the 53-man roster, but the team may decide to only keep two on the roster and elevate a tight end from the practice squad when needed, in the opinion of NBC Philadelphia's Reuben Frank.
Footballguys view: It would be an interesting move, considering Goedert's injury history. But as Frank notes, Goedert has never missed a playoff game. He's gotten banged up, but he always comes back. He's never suffered a season-ending injury, and he's always been just as productive when he's come back as before he got hurt. In addition, Goedert has played the 24th-most games by a tight end since 2019, but he's got the fifth-most games with 50 or more yards. He's had 50 or more yards in 44 percent of his games during those six years, and only Travis Kelce, George Kittle, Mark Andrews, T.J. Hockenson, and Darren Waller have reached 50 yards more frequently among tight ends who've played at least 50 games since 2019. That shows how dangerous Goedert is when he can make it onto the field. Goedert is being drafted as TE17 in early best balls. |

Philadelphia Eagles fifth-round draft choice OL Drew Kendall signed his four-year rookie contract on Monday, May 12. Financial terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.
Link to storyPhiladelphia Eagles QB Kyle McCord will compete with QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson for the No. 3 quarterback job but likely will have an edge over Thompson-Robinson since he was selected in the 2025 NFL Draft, in the opinion of NBC Sports Philadelphia's Dave Zangaro.
Footballguys view: While the sixth-round pick used to select Kyle McCord out of Syracuse doesn't guarantee that spot, it should give him the upper hand. The Eagles got Thompson-Robinson back in a trade with the Browns earlier this offseason and thought he'd be a good player to bring in to develop. But Zangaro believes Thompson-Robinson might be on the outside of the position group. The top two -- Jalen Hurts and Tanner McKee -- are locked into their spots as starter and backup going into the 2025 season. This is a bump for McKee, who was the No. 3 last year behind Hurts and Kenny Pickett, who was traded to Cleveland. |

Philadelphia Eagles LB Nakobe Dean (knee) may be a candidate to start the 2025 regular season on the Physically Unable to Perform list because he is recovering from a torn patellar tendon, in the opinion of NBC Sports Philadelphia's Dave Zangaro.
Link to storyPhiladelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert agreed to a revised deal that includes a $10 million salary (down from $14 million) with $1 million in possible incentives.
Footballguys view: A 2018 second-round pick out of South Dakota State, Goedert was the subject of trade talks this offseason. He's started 76 games for the Eagles, compiling 349 catches for 4,085 yards and 24 touchdowns. He had 42 catches for 496 yards and two scores in 10 games during the regular season in 2024 and led the team in receptions (17) and receiving yards (215) during their Super Bowl run in the postseason. Injuries have kept him from reaching his full potential in Philadelphia. He's missed three or more games in each of the last three seasons. That history and his uncertain future with the club (at least until today) explain Goedert's TE17 Average Draft Position in early Underdog best-ball drafts. |

Philadelphia Eagles RB Tyrion Davis-Price was waived Sunday, May 4.
Link to storyThe Philadelphia Eagles signed sixth-round pick QB Kyle McCord (Syracuse) to a four-year contract.
Footballguys view: The Eagles have quite the competition behind starting QB Jalen Hurts. McCord will compete with Dorian Thompson-Robinson and Tanner McKee. Coming out of Syracuse, McCord shows good feel for the game. He needs to get steadier under pressure, but McCord has the ability to pick apart a defense with short-to-intermediate accuracy. Dynasty GMs will monitor his progress. |

Financial terms were not disclosed.
Link to storyPhiladelphia Eagles WR Jahan Dotson and OG Kenyon Green didn't have their fifth-year option exercised Thursday, May 1.
Footballguys view: Dotson was a first-round pick of the Washington Commanders back in the 2022 NFL Draft. The Eagles picked him up last year via trade in August, and he started six games for his new team. Dotson caught just 19 passes for 216 yards with zero touchdowns, and he'll continue to be a speed option for the Eagles in 2025. With no fifth-year option, Doton will be an unrestricted free agent in 2026. |
Philadelphia Eagles DT Jordan Davis' fifth-year option was exercised Wednesday, April 30. The option guarantees him $12.9 million in 2026.
Link to storyUndrafted free-agent WR Taylor Morin (Wake Forest) agreed to terms on an undisclosed contract Monday, April 28, with the Philadelphia Eagles. Undrafted free-agents WR Ife Adeyi (Sam Houston State) and WR Nahsir Morgan Sr. (Delaware Valley) were invited to join on a tryout basis.
Link to storyPhiladelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert had been the center of trade speculation but wasn't dealt during the 2025 NFL Draft. General manager Howie Roseman was vague about the situation, according to the team press transcript. 'Dallas is part of the team as we speak,' Roseman said when asked if not drafting a tight end reflects upon Goedert's status. 'Obviously, as we go forward, we're going to continue to address things on this team and right now nothing further.'
Footballguys view: Goedert's future has been questioned due to his $11.7 million cap hit in 2025 and zero guaranteed money remaining on his contract. Now 30 years old, Goedert has played a full slate of games only once in his seven-year career -- and that was as a rookie. He managed a career-low 10 regular-season appearances last season due to injury, which led to a career-low two touchdown catches. Goedert's 496 receiving yards and 42 catches also marked lows outside his inaugural campaign in Philly. As NFL.com suggests, Roseman's non-answer on Goedert's future likely speaks volumes to some. There's still plenty of offseason left to figure out if it's simply the GM keeping things in-house or a sign of a split to come. |

Link to storyPhiladelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert's uncertainty amid trade speculation won't impact how the franchise approaches the 2025 NFL Draft, according to Eagles general manager Howie Roseman on Tuesday, April 15. 'The way we look at the draft is it's a separate entity to anything else that's going on,' Roseman told reporters, via team transcript, when asked about the situation. 'We've got to make good decisions in the draft based on who the players are that are available in the draft. We can't make up any positions and make them better than they're not. We have to really have a true process. So, it really doesn't affect us.'
