Seahawks | Ricky Person joining Seahawks Wed Jun 19, 03:11 PM
Free-agent RB Ricky Person Jr. (Ravens) agreed to terms with the Seattle Seahawks Tuesday, June 18, according to a source. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Person is 6'1" 222 and coming off of a solid UFL season with the Birmingham Stallions. He has been in the Ravens organization previously, but hasn't appeared in a regular season game. He'll have an uphill battle to make the roster with 2023 seventh round pick Kenny McIntosh and 2024 UDFA George Holani his main competition for the third or fourth spot behind Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet. |
Seahawks | Seattle lands Ricky Person Jr. Tue Jun 18, 03:41 PM
Free-agent RB Ricky Person Jr. (UFL) reportedly agreed to terms on an undisclosed contract with the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday, June 18.
Link to storySeahawks | High hopes for Jaxon Smith-Njigba Sat Jun 15, 09:39 PM
Seattle Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba is 'definitely going to be a massive piece' of the offense this season, according to head coach Mike Macdonald.
Footballguys view: According to ESPN.com's Brady Henderson, no Seahawks player shined more during OTAs and mandatory minicamp than Smith-Njigba. The Seahawks' wide receiver corps is virtually unchanged from last season, but the pecking order could change in 2024. While Tyler Lockett led the team with 79 catches and finished second behind DK Metcalf with 894 yards, Lockett turns 32 in September and took a paycut to return to Seattle for his 10th season. We currently rank Smith-Njigba (WR38) one spot ahead of Lockett (WR39). JSN will likely move up if he continues to build momentum when training camp opens. |

Link to storySeahawks | Seattle to get more creative with DK Metcalf? Fri Jun 14, 01:26 PM
Seattle Seahawks WR DK Metcalf is a 'big, imposing, fast, powerful receiver' who the new coaching staff wants to get the ball to 'a lot' and make a 'moving target,' according to head coach Mike Macdonald.
Footballguys view: It sounds like they are viewing Metcalf as a run after catch threat in addition to his already formidable game downfield at the catch point. The Seahawks pass offense should be more aggressive under new offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb. Metcalf could be undervalued at his current third round ADP. |

Link to storySeahawks | PJ Walker find new home in Seattle Thu Jun 6, 02:43 PM
Free-agent QB PJ Walker (Browns) reportedly agreed to terms on an undisclosed contract with the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday, June 6.
Footballguys view: Walker has bounced around the league with a few starts to his career. He's a solid veteran as a no.3 quarterback, and at least he's a camp arm for the Seahawks. They have Geno Smith as their starter, and Seattle added Sam Howell to push for the top spot as well. Let's see how that battle unfolds between those two during training camp. |
Seahawks | RBs to be more involved in passing game? Wed Jun 5, 02:56 AM
Seattle Seahawks RBs Kenneth Walker III and Zach Charbonnet should expect to be more involved in the passing game this season in 2024 after combining for only 62 catches on 77 targets in 2023, according to recent comments made by new offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb.'Oh, I love doing (throwing to the running backs). I love doing that. Yeah, we want to make every guy on the field, all five (eligible receivers) as dangerous as possible from any position on the field,' Grubb said on Tuesday, June 4.
Footballguys view: Grubb did great things last year with QB Michael Penix and the University of Washington offense. He crafted an offense that was quite productive for the top three wide receivers with the Huskies, and he could replicate that in Seattle with DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. However, things could be crafted to include the backs in the passing game quite a bit. Walker is an RB2 with upside for Fantasy GMs in 2024 while we like Charbonnet as an RB4/deep flex play (especially because of his receiving ability). |

Link to storySeahawks | Jaxon Smith-Njigba has improved work ethic Fri May 31, 10:04 AM
Seattle Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba has pleased the team with improved practice habits.
Footballguys view: Smith-Njigba caught 63 passes for 628 yards and four touchdowns as a rookie last year. This season, he's got the ability to do more and he's been impressing the team with his offseason work. Smith-Njigba has WR4 upside for Fantasy GMs, and he could be a regular flex play if he performs up to his potential. |

Link to storySeahawks | Geno Smith likes new offense Fri May 24, 02:22 PM
Seattle Seahawks QB Geno Smith said he likes the scheme that offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb is bringing to the team because it matches his drop-back passing style of play.
Footballguys view: Over the last two seasons, Grubb ran the offense at the University of Washington which made QB Michael Penix into a top-10 pick. Smith has played under seven different OCs during his career, so learning a new scheme is nothing for him. It's a good thing he likes this offense, and Smith provides QB2 upside for Fantasy GMs in 2024. |
Seahawks | Dee Eskridge working as returner Thu May 23, 09:34 PM
Seattle Seahawks WR Dee Eskridge was working as a kick returner during OTAs Wednesday, May 23.
Link to storySeahawks | Abraham Lucas not ready yet Thu May 23, 01:47 PM
Seattle Seahawks OT Abraham Lucas (knee) was not on the field during the voluntary workout Wednesday, May 22, because he still recovering from knee surgery.
Footballguys view: Lucas was part of the offensive turnaround in 2022 as a third round who was an instant starter at right tackle. He only played in six games last year because of the knee injury that was surgically corrected in January. The hope is he'll be back for camp, but if Lucas isn't ready, the team could put George Fant or Stone Forsythe out there in his place. |
