The Los Angeles Chargers may decide to keep LB Joey Bosa for the 2025 season because LB Khalil Mack is eligible for unrestricted free agency and cannot be brought back under the franchise tag. Bosa is slated to make $25.36 million during the upcoming season but nearly half of that comes from a $12.36 million roster bonus which would be due in March, so the Chargers are likely to make a decision about his fate within the next few weeks.

Philadelphia Eagles WR Britain Covey (neck) practiced in full all week but has been ruled out for Super Bowl LIX against the Kansas City Chiefs. OL Nick Gates (groin) was limited in practice for a second straight day on Friday, Feb. 7, and is listed as questionable. DE Brandon Graham (elbow) and TE C.J. Uzomah (abdomen) practiced in full on Friday but are also listed as questionable. WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring) was limited in practice all week but no longer appears on the injury report. LB Zack Baun (groin), DT Jalen Carter (illness), OG Landon Dickerson (knee), RB Kenneth Gainwell (concussion, knee), TE Dallas Goedert (ankle) and C Cameron Jurgens (back) practiced in full on Friday and have also been removed from the injury report.
Footballguys view: Graham was a hero in the Eagles last Super Bowl victory seven years ago against the Patriots, but it's not clear how big of a role he will be able to play on Sunday. Jalen Hurts knee injury from the divisional round will be a non-issue in the Super Bowl. |

Uzomah (abdomen) fully participated in practice.
Footballguys view: Smith's status is something to monitor on Friday. He's a speed receiver, one of the best in the league, so a hamstring injury can slow him down a bit. Let's see if he's limited again or a full participant in the final injury report before the Super Bowl. |

Pittsburgh Steelers inside linebackers coach Aaron Curry was hired as the new linebackers coach for the New York Jets on Friday, Jan. 31.
Footballguys view: Curry was a sure thing as the #4 overall pick by the Seahawks in the 2009 draft, but only ended up playing in the league for four years. His coaching career has been more successful, as this job is a promotion from his job with the Steelers, giving him responsibility over both inside and outside linebackers. He had only been a position coach with the Steelers for one season. |

The Buffalo Bills suffered a 32-29 loss against the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game. QB Josh Allen completed 22-of-34 passes for 237 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions, while running 11 times for 39 yards. RB James Cook rushed 13 times for 85 yards and two scores, while absorbing all of his three targets for 49 yards. WR Mack Hollins led the way with three receptions for 73 yards and a touchdown, while WR Khalil Shakir was good for six receptions for 46 yards on seven targets. WR Amari Cooper resurfaced for four receptions for 33 yards, while TE Dalton Kincaid had two catches for 13 yards, and WR Curtis Samuel had a 4-yard touchdown on his only offensive touch. S Cole Bishop had game highs with 10 total stops and nine solo tackles, while LB Matt Milano had nine total stops, eight solo tackles, a sack, a tackle for loss and a quarterback hit.
Footballguys view: As ESPN.com's Alaina Getzenberg framed it, "A season of surpassed expectations and new heights ultimately had the same familiar ending as a sloppy first half set up a tight final two quarters, and it just wasn't quite enough." The mistake-riddled game continued into the final drive when the Bills offense had an opportunity to put together a game-winning drive. The Bills seemed unprepared for a blitz on fourth-and-5 with two minutes remaining in the game. Kincaid did not come down with a late heave thrown under duress by Allen. The Bills have now lost all four postseason meetings against the Mahomes-led Chiefs team since 2020 and have lost eight straight road playoff games. Allen-led Bills teams are 0-2 in the AFC Championship. Buffalo will now go into the offseason with new questions about what they need to do to get past Kansas City in the postseason. |

The Philadelphia Eagles pounded the Washington Commanders 55-23 in the NFC Championship Game Sunday, Jan. 26, advancing to Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans. QB Jalen Hurts completed 20-of-28 passes for 246 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions while rushing for three scores. RB Saquon Barkley ran 15 times for 118 yards and three scores, as well as a 4-yard catch on two targets, while RB Will Shipley added four runs for 77 yards and a TD. WR A.J. Brown led the way with 96 receiving yards and a score on six grabs and eight targets, while TE Dallas Goedert posted seven receptions for 85 yards on eight targets with two runs for 13 yards. WR DeVonta Smith chipped in with four grabs for 45 yards. LB Zack Baun led the way on defense with game highs of 12 total stops and eight solo tackles, with a fumble recovery and a tackle for loss.
Footballguys view: The Commanders turnovers set up the Eagles with short fields all day and everything clicked for Philadelphia. The offense goes into the Super Bowl on a high note even though Jalen Hurts is nursing some sort of knee injury. Baun's performance on defense was key for a unit that lost his fellow starting linebacker Nakobe Dean to a knee injury in the wild card round. |

Los Angeles Chargers impending free-agent LB Khalil Mack said Sunday, Jan. 12 that he is unsure about his football future. 'Man, it's a lot of different thoughts in my head right now,' Mack said. 'I can't really speak on a definitive decision in terms of what I'm going to do because I don't know if I'm going to play football moving forward, so there's some things I gotta talk through with my wife, spend some time with my kids and try not to make a rash decision after a (playoff) loss.'
Footballguys view: Mack passed Too Tall Jones, Elvis Dumervil, and Dexter Manley on the all-time sack leader list to move into the top 50 and certainly has been one of the best edge defenders of his era. Joey Bosa has a $12.36 million roster bonus due in March, so edge is going to be a top priority this offseason in the draft and free agency. |

Confirming a previous report, the New England Patriots agreed to terms with former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel on a multi-year deal Sunday, Jan. 12, to make him the team's next head coach, according to multiple sources.
Footballguys view: This one wasn't hard to see coming after Jared Mayo was fired. Vrabel had a great career with the Patriots and his teams mostly overachieved in Tennessee. For fantasy, we'll be very interested to see who Vrabel brings in as his offensive coordinator. Josh McDaniels' name has already come up, which would probably not a bad thing for Drake Maye. |
