Jaguars | Brian Thomas Jr. Picking Up Offense Quickly Tue Jun 18, 04:25 PM
QB Trevor Lawrence said he was impressed with how quickly rookie receiver Brian Thomas Jr. has picked up the offense, and offensive coordinator Press Taylor echoed that, but added that he'd like the former LSU standout to speak a little more. "He's not a big talker. So you're not always sure, you're searching for feedback," Taylor said. "Are you picking up what we're saying? So far it's always translated over the field pretty good. So he's getting it in some way, shape or form. We want more out of him communication-wise just so we know what he's thinking. Does this make sense to you? How do you relate this? For the most part, he kind of nods and looks at you and goes out on the field and does it right. So that's encouraging."
Footballguys view: As SI.com's John Shipley recently suggested, Thomas is looking to be the next in a long line of LSU wide receivers set to make an instant impact in the NFL. Thomas starred for the Tigers in 2023, catching 68 passes for 1,177 yards and 17 touchdowns. Thomas and LSU teammate Malik Nabers, taken by the Giants, were the fourth and second receivers selected in the 2024 NFL Draft. It's fair to say Thomas gets a better quarterback in Jacksonville than Nabers does in New York. In addition, with Calvin Ridley and Zay Jones both moving on as free agents, Thomas will get ample opportunity to earn a legitimate role this season. |
Jaguars | Kyric McGowan signed Fri Jun 14, 12:21 PM
Free-agent WR Kyric McGowan (Commanders) signed an undisclosed deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars, the team announced Friday, June 14. In a corresponding move, OT Chandler Brewer (undisclosed) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list.

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence agreed to terms on a five-year contract extension with the Jaguars Thursday, June 13, worth $275 million. The deal includes $200 million in guaranteed money.
Footballguys view: Lawrence moves to the top of the quarterback contract list in per year compensation. Where quarterbacks fit in on the pay scale is more a function of when they sign their extensions that where they fit in the quarterback rankings. The Jaguars are hopeful that Lawrence's best football is ahead of him, and they are probably right. |
Jaguars | More contract details for Trevor Lawrence Fri Jun 14, 12:23 AM
Updating an earlier report, Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence will receive a $37.5 million signing bonus as part of his five-year, $275 million extension.

According to head coach Doug Pederson, Savage is on track to participate fully in training camp next month.'He's getting a lot stronger. Getting more reps with the defense. He's showing a lot of good things out there, and just, he's in a good position now. I think when he comes back for camp he'll be ready to go,' Pederson said on Wednesday, June 13.

Link to storyJaguars | Brian Thomas Jr. under contract Sat Jun 8, 03:08 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars first-round draft choice WR Brian Thomas Jr. (Louisiana State) signed a four-year contract on Friday, June 7. Financial terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed, but the contract includes a fifth-year team option.
Footballguys view: With the release of Zay Jones, Thomas is in line for a big role as a rookie in an offense that runs a lot of three wide receiver sets. Thomas is going well ahead of Gabe Davis, who should also play outside receiver, and even ahead of Evan Engram, who should be in the top two on the team in targets. The hope is that Thomas's speed and size improves the Jaguars vertical passing game, so he can still make good on that lofty ADP, but he is being drafted closer to his ceiling than his floor. |
Jaguars | Jack Anderson picked up by Jacksonville Fri Jun 7, 04:34 PM
Free-agent C Jack Anderson (Colts) was claimed off waivers by the Jacksonville Jaguars on Friday, June 7.

Link to storyJaguars | Gabe Davis should be fine for camp Thu Jun 6, 12:33 AM
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Gabe Davis (knee) should be available for the start of the training camp, according to head coach Doug Pederson.
Footballguys view: Davis is a quality player when healthy, but it seems like he's banged up quite a bit throughout his career. He's big, strong and fast, so the Jaguars can use him as the replacement for Calvin Ridley in their offense. Davis is going off the board in the WR4/WR5 range, but there's a chance for him to produce like a weekly flex play...again...if he can stay healthy. |
Jaguars | David White waived/injured Wed Jun 5, 07:17 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars WR David White Jr. (knee) was waived/injured Wednesday, June 5.
Link to storyJaguars | Two players on track for camp Wed Jun 5, 05:14 PM

Link to storyJaguars | Gabe Davis works with QB Mon Jun 3, 08:40 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Gabe Davis worked with QB Trevor Lawrence during the voluntary workout Monday, June because they work on their timing.
Footballguys view: Davis has been limited by a knee issue throughout OTAs. Head coach Doug Pederson has been taking a cautious approach with the former Buffalo wideout, so seeing the newcomer take a positive step is noteworthy. |
Jaguars | Coach happy with Evan Engram Mon Jun 3, 08:38 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars TE Evan Engram has been impressive during offseason workouts, according to head coach Doug Pederson.
Footballguys view: That Engram is already garnering strong reviews is great, but it's also no surprise. He's been a front-line fantasy asset since his arrival in Jacksonville. Engram finished as TE2 in 2023 after a TE5 performance in his first season with the team. Volume has been a major factor in his success. Engram drew 98 targets in 2022 and a league-high (for the position) 143 targets last year. According to PlayerProfiler.com, Jacksonville has the fifth-most vacated targets in the NFL. Even if Engram doesn't duplicate last year's 23.8 percent target share, expecting top-10 production is more than reasonable. |
Jaguars | Two still working on side Mon Jun 3, 06:17 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars OT Anton Harrison (shoulder) and DT Arik Armstead (undisclosed) worked on the side during the voluntary workout Monday, June 3.
Link to storyJaguars | Trevor Lawrence would like extension soon Mon Jun 3, 04:40 PM

Link to storyJaguars | Gabe Davis remains limited Wed May 29, 10:13 AM
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Gabe Davis (knee) has made some progress in his recovery but will continue to be a limited participant this week, according to head coach Doug Pederson.
Footballguys view: Pederson seems to be excited about Davis this season, calling him a "Swiss Army-type" for the Jaguars earlier this year. At best, Davis is the third or fourth option in the passing game. That means Fantasy GMs have better options out there. |
Jaguars | Two linemen sit out workout Tue May 28, 06:48 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars DT Arik Armstead (undisclosed) and DT Roy Robertson-Harris (undisclosed) did not participate in the voluntary workout Tuesday, May 28, because of undisclosed injuries.
Link to storyJaguars | Travis Etienne may see less work Fri May 24, 02:15 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Travis Etienne may have his workload reduce a bit this upcoming season because head coach Doug Pederson said the team wants to keep Etienne healthy throughout the season.
Footballguys view: After back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons on the ground, it's hard to imagine Jacksonville going away from the big-play ability of Etienne. Perhaps he catches 40 passes instead of the 58 he did last season. Etienne is getting drafted as a top-5 fantasy running back and should finish in the top-10 at least. |

Link to storyJaguars | Christian Kirk on track Mon May 20, 07:33 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Christian Kirk (core) is on track in his recovery from a core muscle injury and has been able to participate in offseason workouts, according to head coach Doug Pederson.
Footballguys view: Kirk led the Jaguars in receiving yardage when he went down during the 2023 season, with 787. He played through a right abdominal tear between Weeks 6-13 before tearing his left abductor in Week 13. He finished the year on injured reserve. In 2022, his first with Jacksonville, Kirk led the team with 84 receptions for 1,108 yards and eight touchdowns. His presence will be important this year. The team added first-round selection Brian Thomas Jr. and free agent Gabe Davis, while 2023 starters Calvin Ridley and Zay Jones left via free agency and release, respectively. Kirk, who finished as WR12 in 2022, is our WR32. |
Jaguars | Gabe Davis to miss time Mon May 20, 06:19 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Gabe Davis (hamstring, personal) will be sidelined for the next few days of practice, according to head coach Doug Pederson.
Link to storyJaguars | Trevor Lawrence present amid contract talks Mon May 20, 12:40 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence is present at voluntary offseason workouts while a potential contract extension is being negotiated, according to sources Monday, May 20.
Footballguys view: Lawrence is now eligible to sign a contract extension after having accrued three full NFL seasons. The former No. 1 overall pick from the 2021 draft threw for more than 4,000 yards for the second straight season in 2023 but suffered multiple injuries last year, including a knee injury, a high ankle sprain, a concussion, and a sprained right shoulder. We'll continue to monitor the contract situation, but given his talent and potential upside, Lawrence is a strong QB2 candidate for fantasy managers. He's currently our QB14. |

Link to storyJaguars | Gabe Davis limited Sat May 11, 09:54 AM
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Gabe Davis (knee) has been limited during offseason workouts because of a knee injury that he suffered during the 2023 season, according to head coach Doug Pederson.
Footballguys view: Davis's 2024 fantasy outlook was immediately dimmed when the team took LSU receiver Brian Thomas in the first round. Thomas has size and speed to be a deep threat outsid, which is Davis's calling card. If Davis isn't healthy going into training camp, Thomas could be a big part of the pass offense this year, and he could be even if Davis is healthy. Davis is only a late round consideration in fantasy drafts. |
Jaguars | Three draft picks sign contracts Fri May 10, 08:00 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars fifth-round draft choice CB Deantre Prince, fifth-round draft choice RB Keilan Robinson and sixth-round draft choice PK Cam Little signed four-year contracts with the Jaguars Friday, May 10. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Link to storyJaguars | Jacksonville still undecided about play-caller Fri May 10, 01:06 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson declined to answer if he will assume play-calling duties for the 2024 season.'(We) don't play a game until September. So, we've got some time (to decide that),' Pederson told reporters on Friday, May 10.
Footballguys view: It sounds like Pederson may resume most of the play-calling duties from OC Press Taylor. Last year, the Jaguars offense was inconsistent and they're not getting the most out of QB Trevor Lawrence. Pederson could be the guy calling the plays when the regular season opens. |

Jacksonville Jaguars PK Joey Slye was released Tuesday, April 30.
Link to storyJaguars | Zay Jones released Tue Apr 30, 10:35 AM
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Zay Jones was released Tuesday, April 30. The move saves around $4 million on the salary cap.
Footballguys view: This outcome isn't a huge surprise. The Jaguars selected Brian Thomas Jr. with the 23rd pick overall in last week's NFL Draft. They also signed former Bills wideout Gabe Davis to a three-year contract in March. Davis and Thomas will be the starters outside, with Christian Kirk in the slot and TE Evan Engram moving around the formation. Jones, was coming off a season in which he missed eight games because of knee injuries. Jones will be looking to find a landing spot with a path to workload. Until he does, fantasy managers should look elsewhere. |
Jaguars | Jarvis Landry to attend Jaguars camp Mon Apr 29, 08:13 AM
Free-agent WR Jarvis Landry (Browns) is expected to work out at the Jacksonville Jaguars' rookie camp.
Footballguys view: Landry last played in 2022 for the Saints, but he struggled with an ankle injury suffered in Week 3 of that season that led to his appearing in nine games. He drew 39 targets and caught 25 passes for 272 yards and one touchdown. Landry could never recuperate from the ankle injury, leading to New Orleans putting him on injured reserve. His chances of returning to fantasy relevance in Jacksonville seem thin. |
Jaguars | Joshua Cephus signing with Jacksonville Sun Apr 28, 09:00 PM
Undrafted free-agent WR Joshua Cephus (Texas San-Antonio) agreed to terms with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, April 28, according to a league source.
