The Los Angeles Chargers may decide to keep LB Joey Bosa for the 2025 season because LB Khalil Mack is eligible for unrestricted free agency and cannot be brought back under the franchise tag. Bosa is slated to make $25.36 million during the upcoming season but nearly half of that comes from a $12.36 million roster bonus which would be due in March, so the Chargers are likely to make a decision about his fate within the next few weeks.

Los Angeles Chargers CB Asante Samuel Jr. (shoulder) said Sunday, Jan. 12 that he expects to be healthy for the offseason program. He didn't play after Week 4 due to a shoulder injury, and he had been dealing with 'stinger symptoms' to both shoulder stemming from a collision in practice.
Link to storyLos Angeles Chargers impending free-agent LB Khalil Mack said Sunday, Jan. 12 that he is unsure about his football future. 'Man, it's a lot of different thoughts in my head right now,' Mack said. 'I can't really speak on a definitive decision in terms of what I'm going to do because I don't know if I'm going to play football moving forward, so there's some things I gotta talk through with my wife, spend some time with my kids and try not to make a rash decision after a (playoff) loss.'
Footballguys view: Mack passed Too Tall Jones, Elvis Dumervil, and Dexter Manley on the all-time sack leader list to move into the top 50 and certainly has been one of the best edge defenders of his era. Joey Bosa has a $12.36 million roster bonus due in March, so edge is going to be a top priority this offseason in the draft and free agency. |
