Footballguys Staff's Atlanta, Team Vibes and Players to Target and Avoid Footballguys Staff Published 07/30/2023

As we race toward August, Footballguys.com will look at one team per day with our quick-hitting Team Vibes and Players to Target and Avoid, where we check out the overall mood of each team's offense and let you know the players we are in on (because they are great values at the cost it takes to acquire them) and who we're out on (because they are too expensive and won't give you a good return on that investment).

Falcons, Team Vibes

  • Good - 3
  • Neutral - 10
  • Bad - 0

Staffers with Good Vibes

  • Phil Alexander: Drake London, Kyle Pitts, and Bijan Robinson are each potential superstars. They can help elevate Desmond Ridder, who only needs to be average for the offense to click.
  • Daniel Harms: Optimism is aplenty in Atlanta, and the talent is everywhere on offense.
  • Joey Wright: Atlanta has some of the most exciting young weapons in the game. At some point, they are bound to put it all together, and when they do, they'll easily be the team to beat in the NFC South.

Staffers with Neutral Vibes

  • Jason Wood: Bijan Robinson is the perfect piece for Arthur Smith's offense, but we still don't know if Desmond Ridder can play at a capable level; they're a year or two away from contention, at a minimum.
  • Jeff Haseley: The team is a franchise quarterback away from being a contender. If Arthur Smith can make this team competitive without that piece, it will go a long way to cementing his job for the future.
  • Dave Kluge: All of these weapons and a third-round rookie with four career starts is a bit worrisome.
  • Ben Cummins: The Falcons are by no means a passing juggernaut, but they’re one of the best running teams in the NFL and have playmakers all over the place.
  • Jeff Tefertiller: The team plays in a bad division and could content if Ridder improves. Yes, there are many "ifs", but fantasy upside is apparent.
  • Alfredo Brown: Everything hinges on whether Desmond Ridder can be a good NFL quarterback.
  • Christian Williams: While the offensive skill talent and scheme indicate they should succeed, much hinges on Desmond Ridder's ability to execute.
  • Andy Hicks: The Falcons have built an offense based on high draft picks. The playcaller and the quarterback are the issue.
  • Ryan Weisse: You have legitimate stars at three of four fantasy positions. Unfortunately, the quarterback is the odd man out and could hurt the others.
  • Jeff Bell: The team has weapons, and Arthur Smith is creative, but fantasy players should be cautious given the lack of passing game in 2022.

Staffers with Bad Vibes

  • None.
