Jets, Team Vibes

  • Good - 8
  • Neutral - 6
  • Bad - 0

Staffers with Good Vibes

  • Christian Williams: Upgrading from Zach Wilson and Mike White to Aaron Rodgers could be the final piece for a deep playoff run.
  • Dan Hindery: It feels like Rodgers will bear down and produce one more strong season, though my confidence in this offense beyond 2023 is low.
  • Phil Alexander: Aaron Rodgers gets a mulligan for his shaky 2022 after winning league MVP in each of the previous two seasons.
  • Chad Parsons: Quarterback was the glaring weakness last year, and even a declining Aaron Rodgers is a stark upgrade across the board.
  • Jason Wood: The team took important steps forward last year, hitting on a bountiful draft class. And have now added the guy who has won two of the last three MVP awards.
  • Andy Hicks: The pieces are in place for a high-scoring fantasy offense with depth across the board.
  • Jeff Bell: If Aaron Rodgers plays anywhere near his MVP seasons, this offense is primed to ascend.
  • Nick Whalen: The Jets added Aaron Rodgers to a team who just drafted the offensive and defensive rookies of the year.

Staffers with Neutral Vibes

  • Ben Cummins: The 39-year-old Aaron Rodgers provides a stable floor and exciting ceiling to an offense with exciting skill player talent.
  • Dave Kluge: Aaron Rodgers is a likely upgrade from the Jets’ 2022 quarterback room, but going on 40 years old, there’s a lot of risk that he isn’t the guy he used to be.
  • Jeff Haseley: I am not sold on Aaron Rodgers yet. He is the determining factor for this team's success, though. As Rodgers goes, the Jets go.
  • Jeff Tefertiller: Aaron Rodgers is coming off a down year. His potential rebound will determine the Jet's fate.
  • Daniel Harms: Tons of guesswork and assumed production from a 39-year-old QB.
  • Ryan Weisse: Nothing I saw from Aaron Rodgers last season moves the needle. I love Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson, but overall this offense could disappoint.

Staffers with Bad Vibes

  • None.

Players We Are Targeting

Reasons to be In on Breece Hall

  • Ben Cummins: Breece Hall was an incredible prospect, awesome as a rookie, is just 22 years old, and is recovering well from his torn ACL.
  • Dave Kluge: If healthy, he’d be a first-round pick. The ACL tear has suppressed his value, but he should be back to 100% for the ever-important late-season fantasy playoffs.
  • Dan Hindery: He passed the eye test as a rookie, and reports about his ACL recovery are positive. Still, some risk the Jets add further backfield competition, but the upside is immense, given Hall's big-play speed and receiving ability.
  • Chad Parsons: All reports are positive on Hall's injury recovery, and his trajectory and ceiling paired with Aaron Rodgers is an elite fantasy option.
  • Andy Hicks: Was starting to show his elite potential before injury last year. If he gets through training camp unscathed, will outshine his ADP.
  • Daniel Harms: Volume and the opportunity to have a monstrous season will be available for Hall if fully healthy. Will outproduce ADP.

Reasons to be In on Garrett Wilson

  • Christian Williams: He was a target hog in 2022, and now he gets a quarterback that prefers to funnel targets to the top option.
  • Jeff Haseley: Wilson has the chance to break into the elite wide receiver category, and he can be drafted after the top 6.
  • Jason Wood: He had a monstrous rookie season despite poor quarterbacking. He’ll ascend into the true elite this year.
  • Jeff Bell: He is ready for a star turn. If he has anywhere close to Davante Adams' level emphasis on the offense, he will flirt with top-five wide receiver scoring.
  • Ryan Weisse: We already saw him hyper-targeted last year, and that could grow in 2023, with a distinct chance at more touchdowns.

Reasons to be In on Tyler Conklin

  • Phil Alexander: Capable of a double-digit touchdown season catching red zone passes from Rodgers. Nearly free in drafts.
  • Jeff Tefertiller: He emerged last year and should benefit from the quarterback upgrade. Fantasy starter upside for little or no cost.

Reasons to be In on Allen Lazard

  • Nick Whalen: History has shown Aaron Rodgers values rapport with his receivers. Lazard has that rapport, and the Jets paid him solid money in free agency.

Players We Are Avoiding

Reasons to be Out on Garrett Wilson

  • Phil Alexander: Wilson's ADP has eclipsed those of Davante Adams and Amon-Ra St. Brown. You're drafting him expecting a finish near the top-5% of his outcome range.
  • Jeff Tefertiller: I love Wilson's game, but he is priced at his ceiling with the assumption that Rodgers will return to form. High risk, little reward.
  • Chad Parsons: Wilson's cost is at his ceiling with the assumption Aaron Rodgers will ensure Wilson finishes as a strong WR1.
  • Andy Hicks: When is the last time Aaron Rodgers had immediate chemistry with a receiver? He has multiple ex-Green Bay teammates for a reason.
  • Daniel Harms: He's being drafted at his ceiling, he'll have to have a near top-5 performance to pay off at ADP.

Reasons to be Out on Michael Carter

  • Christian Williams: Israel Abanikanda is already getting buzz as the potential "ease Breece Hall in" option early in the year.
  • Dan Hindery: The Jets do not seem particularly high on their backfield depth behind Hall, and the backup spot is wide open.
  • Ryan Weisse: He's not taking snaps from a healthy Breece Hall and could lose snaps to Israel Abanakanda. He's the odd man out.

Reasons to be Out on Breece Hall

  • Jeff Haseley: There is some risk regarding Hall's ability to return to form one year removed from his ACL injury. For that, I am not as confident in him.
  • Jason Wood: Committee vibes run rampant.
  • Nick Whalen: While I like Hall as a player, I will wait another year to make sure his knee is 100% from the ACL injury.

Reasons to be Out on Allen Lazard

  • Ben Cummins: Allen Lazard is a dead-zone wide receiver. His cost is too high compared to his limited difference-making ability.
  • Dave Kluge: He had a lackluster 2022 campaign as the unquestioned top dog and has must stiffer target competition now. He’ll score some touchdowns, but good luck predicting when.

Reasons to be Out on Aaron Rodgers

  • Jeff Bell: There are options available after him that possess a similar ceiling, and Rodgers lacks a rushing floor.
