The Guru's Notepad IDP Info, Notes from Week 2

As I watch games from Thursday through Monday Night Football, I take notes on the things that catch my eye. From injuries to unexpected box score production, both good and bad, to scheme quirks and situations that could affect a player's production in weeks to come. By Wednesday evening, I turn these notes and the subsequent news and investigation into the Eyes of the Guru column.

That process will continue with season 30 of the EOTG, but this year I am going to try something new. On Monday afternoon/evening, I will be sharing those raw notes. There will not be a lot of analysis or in-depth description. Those things take time and will come later in the week. The goal is to give our customers an early heads up on things that could impact your important decisions for the week, so if something in the notes is particularly important to your team, you can look into it on your own and/or wait until the EOTG comes out that week to get my take.

These are the notes from Week 2.

Arizona Cardinals

• Budda Baker inactive, K'Von Wallace 5-3 in his place
• Kei'Trel Clark 5-0 2PD
• Dennis Gardeck has another good game 4-0-1

Atlanta Falcons

• Jessie Bates crashes in Week 2, 3-0
• Troy Andersen misses with concussion; Nate Landman got the start. Snaps?

Baltimore Ravens

• Patrick Queen had shoulder looked at and returned
• Jadeveon Clowney 3-1-1 PD,
• Kyle Hamilton 3-1; not looking good for a year two breakout. Geno Stone 7-2 int

Buffalo Bills

• Lopsided win hurt tackle numbers. No one on the team had more than 3 solos. Terrell Bernard 3-3 int, Matt Milano 3-1 int

• Nick Scott banged up on a hard tackle early in the second quarter. Returned, went down again in the second half concussion.

Dallas Cowboys

• Osa Odighizuwa 2-0-1, has 3 sacks in two games.

Denver Broncos

• Nik Bonitto, Jonathan Cooper, and Randy Gregory combined for 9-4-4
• Josew Jewell 7-2 PD, Alex Singleton 3-1 snaps
• Damarri Mathis good numbers in two straight games

Detroit Lions

• C.J. Gardner Johnson out on first series. Looked like shoulder or arm. He returned a series or two later. 7-1
• Kerby Joseph (6-1 PD) missed a series or two with a hip. He returned, but hip pointers can be worse a couple of days later. Watch the practice reports

New England Patriots

New York Giants

• Jason Pinnock was everywhere 9-0 at half, finished 10-3.
