In their Week 11 win against the Cincinnati Bengals, the Baltimore Ravens have possibly lost star tight end Mark Andrews for the season. This is a massive blow for fantasy managers with him on their roster. Heading into the game, Andrews was TE3 in fantasy points per game, second on the team with 59 targets, and led the team in redzone targets. Having Andrews on a contending dynasty roster could sink your chances of winning a championship this season. You might have to be active on the trade market, depending on your backup situation. There are moves to be made to help you stay in contention, so let’s dive into five current tight-end targets to look at to help minimize the blow from the Andrews injury.
Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs (KTC Value - TE3) Age: 34.1
If not on a contender already, Kelce is the perfect target to go after. The 34-year-old has a complex dynasty value to gauge due to his age and perceived decline. While he still is TE1 in fantasy points per game at 17.6, he’s averaged less than 13 points in half his games this season. His 35.9 points against the Chargers are lifting his numbers quite a bit. However, he is still in the top three at his position in targets, receptions, yards, and target share and plays with Patrick Mahomes II. He has a favorable stretch down the season, including the Patriots, Raiders, and Bengals in the fantasy playoffs. The door could be open to acquire Kelce, and if you just lost Andrews, you should be knocking. Here are some recent deals to give you context of his dynasty value:
- Travis Kelce for 2024 1st/2024 2nd
- Travis Kelce for Michael Mayer/2025 1st
- Travis Kelce for Tee Higgins
- Travis Kelce for Drake London
- Travis Kelce for Dallas Goedert/2024 1st
- Travis Kelce for Saquon Barkley
- Travis Kelce for 2024 1st
- Travis Kelce/2024 3rd for Nico Collins/Adam Thielen/2024 1st
Jake Ferguson, Dallas Cowboys (KTC Value - TE3) Age: 24.8
Ferguson has quietly become the Cowboys' second most reliable pass catcher this season, and his dynasty value has yet to catch up to that fact. Over the last three games, he has caught 15 of his 21 targets for 164 yards receiving and scored three touchdowns. He is second on the team in targets with 50, and this offense has looked for him in the redzone. He currently leads all tight ends in red zone targets with 17. While he is no Travis Kelce, he is cheaper and could fill in nicely for Andrews. Ferguson is also the type of dynasty asset that won’t see a significant dip in his value and could see a bump in the next two seasons based on this Cowboys' offense and his target share. This is one of those floor moves you hope can help you sustain some level of production at the position while also predicting a rise in his value over the off-season. Ferguson could also be a trade piece if he has a solid finish to the year. Here’s what his current value in leagues is:
- Jake Ferguson for 2024 2nd
- Jake Ferguson for Jayden Reed
- Jake Ferguson for Kadarius Toney/2025 2nd
- Jake Ferguson for Keaton Mitchell
- Jake Ferguson/2024 2nd for Aaron Jones/Devin Singletary
- Jake Ferguson for 2024 3rd/2024 3rd
- Jake Ferguson for Jaylen Warren
Logan Thomas, Washington Commanders (KTC Value - TE27) Age: 32.4
Thomas could be your target if you're looking for a cheap veteran to fill Andrews' spot in your lineup. He’s essentially a solid TE2 who averages just under ten fantasy points per game with the potential to have spike weeks. He does not have the highest ceiling of the tight ends on this list, but he has had a reasonably consistent floor this season. He has seen at least five targets in six of his nine games this season, including 24 over the last four weeks. His quarterback, Sam Howell, has also been a top-five fantasy quarterback this season, and the Commanders have not been afraid to air it out. He has thrown at least 42 passes in his last four games, and based on the Commanders' season game scripts, those numbers don't look like they will be getting lower. He has three tough matchups to end the fantasy playoffs but is a low-risk option at the position. Here’s what his current market value is:
- Logan Thomas for 2024 3rd
- Logan Thomas for Darnell Mooney/2024 3rd
- Logan Thomas for Darren Waller
- Logan Thomas for Jalin Hyatt
- Logan Thomas for 2024 4th
- Logan Thomas for Mike Williams
Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons (KTC Value - TE6) Age: 23.1
This will only be a dynasty tight end article if you mention Kyle Pitts. Pitts is an intriguing asset in this scenario. The risk involved with trading for Pitts is that you undoubtedly would have to move Andrews in any deal. Then the question becomes, are you willing to take the risk that Pitts can help you out this year and will finally be the consistent TE1 moving forward that everyone hoped for when the Falcons drafted him? As far as his outlook this season, it’s murky. He could string together a few boom weeks, and being on a bye in week eleven is also a positive since you’d be getting him for the remainder of the season. But he currently sits as TE17, averaging 8.3 fantasy points per game. The Falcons offense is also a mess, especially at the quarterback position. Desmond Ridder started the first eight games, producing a 4-4 record, while Heinicke, in his first start last weekend, passed for 268 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Neither has looked particularly good. The only silver lining is Pitts did lead the team in targets last game and is second on the team in targets this season with 58. There is also the bonus that Pitts’s dynasty perception has always been positive, which boosts his value. While that positive perception is waning a bit, if the Falcons were to get rid of head coach Arthur Smith this off-season or improve their quarterback position, we could see Pitts's value rise again. This will give you more opportunities to move him if you come up short this season. This is risky, but it could allow you to get younger at the position and potentially help you win your league.
- Kyle Pitts for Tank Dell
- Kyle Pitts for DK Metcalf
- Kyle Pitts for Tee Higgins
- Kyle Pitts for Will Levis
- Kyle Pitts for Mark Andrews/2024 2nd
- Kyle Pitts for Rachaad White
- Kyle Pitts for 2024 1st
Taysom Hill, New Orleans Saints (KTC Value - TE21) Age: 33.2
This is a fun move if you are looking for a complete wildcard. He’s an unpredictable start week in and week out, but when he hits his ceiling, he’s a top-5 player at the position. The fun part about Hill is that he is essentially a quarterback, running back, and tight end all wrapped into one. With Derek Carr’s recent injuries and Jameis Winston’s poor play, Hill could see more opportunities at quarterback, which means more fantasy points. If your league allows Taysom to be placed at the tight end position, he is essentially a fantasy cheat code. In the past five weeks, he has had four top-six finishes with just one lousy performance against Minnesota. He is also on a bye this week, meaning he’ll be available for the rest of the season. He also has some favorable matchups down the stretch and is dirt cheap in dynasty leagues. It might be worth testing the market and adding Hill.
- Taysom Hill for 2024 3rd
- Taysom Hill for Michael Carter
- Taysom Hill for Jaleel McLaughlin
- Taysom Hill/Tyler Boyd for Adam Thielen
- Taysom Hill for 2025 3rd
- Taysom Hill for Mike Williams
