Welcome to Fanduel Value-Play Rankings!
Each week we ask 10 staff members to rank their top players at each Fanduel position. These rankings are based on what our DFS staff believe are the best players at each position with respect to total points they will receive compared to the dollars that they cost. These rankings can be used to help you round out your cash game and GPP lineups, or just provide a guideline for what the Footballguys.com staff believe are the best value-plays to target
If Staffers submitted Comments, they are included below the tables as well.
Each Staffer was asked to rank 8 QBs, 12 RBs, 12 WRs, 8 TEs, 5 PKs, and 5 Defenses. For the purposes of calculating an average rank, if a player was not ranked by a particular staffer, they received a weight that was 1 point higher than the players they ranked. For example. if only 2 staffers ranked a particular quarterback, the other 8 staffers were weighted as giving that quarterback a '9' for average calculation purposes.

This week’s top choice for value based quarterbacks is Russell Wilson. Wilson’s back to full strength, and with the injuries at RB, he’s also using his legs to help the Seahawks win games. Over the last three games, Wilson has over 900 passing yards, 6 passing TDs and no interceptions. He also had 35 rushing yards and a rushing TD. This week they travel east to Tampa Bay, a team that struggles to stop opposing quarterbacks not named Jay Cutler. Against Tampa, Wilson should approach 300 yards passing and a couple TDs this week. At 7500, he’s a great value.
Behind Wilson, we have a pair of QBs at 7800 this week. Cam Newton travels west to face the Raiders, who are coming off a big win on Monday Night Football in Mexico. Although the Oakland passing defense has improved from it’s league worst ranking a few weeks ago, they are still giving up over 275 yards passing a week. They’ve also given up 68 rushing yards to opposing QBs over their last four games. Newton hasn’t been tearing it up as of late, but against the Raiders on a short week, he has a good chance to reach cash game value. Eli Manning is also 7800 on FanDuel this week, and he’s got a great matchup against the winless Cleveland Browns. Manning has been playing well as of late, and he has 725 yards passing and 9 passing TDs against 4 Ints over his last three games. The Browns can’t stop anyone, and even on the road in Cleveland, Manning should have a great game.
If you’re looking to pay up at QB this weekend, look to Drew Brees at home against the Rams. He’s 8600 this week, but he’s facing the Rams that are really struggling as of late. Brees is on fire over his last three games, and he’s racked up 911 passing yards and 8 passing TDs against just 3 picks in that span. The Rams have one of the better passing defense in the league, but they haven’t faced a strong passing game like the Saints lately. Brees isn’t our top rated value QB this week, but he should still have a pretty solid game.
Mamula
Wilson: The Seattle offense is heating up. Russell Wilson is severely underpriced.
Kaepernick: High floor at his salary due to the rushing yards.
Newton: Expect Carolina-Oakland game to shootout.

David Johnson is expensive this week at 9500 and while I personally don’t feel he’s an exceptional value this week, I’m in the distinct minority there. Johnson’s had a rushing and a receiving TD in each of his last two games. Against the Vikings last week on the road, Johnson had a field day, cranking out 160 yards from scrimmage and 2 TDs. This week he faces the Eagles who are fresh off surrendering over 280 yards from scrimmage to the Philadelphia RB Trio of Ryan Mathews, Darren Sproles and Wendell Smallwood last week. I’m not a fan of his super high salary, but the rest of the staff feel he’s a good value pick with a good chance to hit value.
One of the biggest values at RB this week is Jay Ajayi at home against the league worst rushing defense – San Francisco. Ajayi has cooled off a bit from his back to back 200 yard rushing a few weeks ago, but he has a great chance to return there against the 49ers. San Francisco is giving up 36 yards per game than any other team in the league. Ajayi is averaging 5.6 YPC this season and the 49ers are allowing 5.2. That should turn into big rushing yards for Ajayi this week, especially given the 1:00 PM start and the fact that the 49ers are traveling west to east. As a 7.5 point favorite this week, Miami and Ajayi should easily reach value, even at 8400.
Mamula
Murray: The Titans offense revolves around Murray, who gets a prime matchup this week.
Gordon: Gordon continues to produce with a very high number of touches every week.
Ajayi: Continue to target RBs playing the 49ers defense.
Rawls: Without C.J. Prosise, Thomas Rawls will get all the work in Seattle

With Rob Gronkowski out with a punctured lung last week, Edelman had 17 targets, 8 receptions for 77 yards and a TD last week. This week he and the Patriots face the Jets, a team that struggles a bit against the pass. Two weeks ago, they gave up 109 receiving yards to Kenny Britt and even with two weeks to prepare, they are going to have a hard time stopping the Patriots. New England is 8-2 right now, but they need to keep pace with the Raiders who are also 8-2 and have been playing well. Tom Brady is going to throw a lot in this game, and Edelman should be the main target again if Gronkowski doesn’t play (he hasn’t practiced as of Wednesday).
Doug Baldwin checks in as our #2 choice for value receivers this week. His salary of 6800, combined with his big stats and soft opponent make him an excellent candidate this week. Last week Baldwin had just four receptions against the Eagles, but he had an impressive 104 receiving yards with those few touches. While he didn’t catch a TD pass, he actually threw on to Russell Wilson on a gadget play that fooled the Eagles pretty badly. The week before Baldwin had just six receptions for 59 yards but three of them were for TDs, giving him a huge point total in FanDuel scoring. This week Baldwin faces a passing defense that has looked better these last two weeks against weaker passing teams like Chicago and Kansas City, but there are just two weeks removed from the 111 yard performance that they gave up to Julio Jones and a combined 281 receiving yards to Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree just the week before. Baldwin should have a solid week against a weak Tampa Defense.
Mamula
Baldwin: The Seahawks offense is heating up and Doug Baldwin is the top option.
Edelman: A whopping 17 targets last week without Rob Gronkowski
Shepard: 3 consecutive weeks with a TD for Sterling Shepard. 11 targets last week.

With A.J. Green and Giovani Bernard both out of the starting lineup, Andy Dalton’s favorite target’s going to become Tyler Eifert for the next few weeks. Eifert is value-priced at just 6400 this week and he’s facing a Baltimore defense that gave up almost 60 yards receiving to the Dallas tight ends just a week ago.
Delanie Walker is in an even better position, facing a Chicago team that has been decimated on offense due to injuries and a defense that is struggling to stop anyone as of late. With the suspension of Jerell Freeman due to performance enhancing drugs, the Bears lost one of their most consistent defensive starters this season. Look for Walker to exploit those backup and weaker matchups as the Titans come into town in search of a big win. The Bears are playing for a draft pick at this point, and Walker should be there to help them on their quest. At just 6100, he’s our top pick for value TEs this week.

Matt Bryant is at home, in a dome, favored to win with an implied team total of almost 28 points. His salary is 5100 though, so he may only be an option for you if you have some extra cash.
If you want to go cheaper, consider Josh Lambo at 4600 or Robbie Gould at 4500. Lambo is on the road against the Raiders, but they are still favored to win with an implied total of 23 points. Gould is even cheaper, and he’s coming off a terrible week with a couple missed extra points. But those were weather related, and this week Gould is on the road against winless Cleveland with a fat 7 point favorite ranking from Las Vegas. Both of these guys are great options this week.

Bryant: If you can find the salary, pay up for Bryant. He has been remarkably consistent this season.

The top three choices this week are more based on their opponent than the strength of their defense. The Giants are on the road against the winless Browns, and they strongly favored to win at just 4800. The Bills are also 4800, but they are at home against a soft Jacksonville offense. The Bills are also a 7.5 point favorite this week. Tennessee is just 4500 this week, and they are on the road as just a 5 point favorite. But they face the Bears who are in free fall on the offensive side of the ball. With Matt Barkley at QB, the Titans might be the smartest play of the three.

Denver: Kansas City has the lowest projected team total of the week
NY Giants: prime matchup vs the Browns this week
Baltimore: Losing 45% of their receiving targets without A.J. Green and Gio Bernard
Tennessee: Bears offense is all backups.
Good luck this weekend!
