Welcome to Week 5 of last-minute moves to make. This article is intended to give you late-week waiver and free-agent advice based on late-week news and gameday inactives. Injuries and other late-week developments can have a huge impact on lines and rosters, and being up-to-date on these, especially before waivers and free agency locks before kickoff, is a huge advantage.
Stash Craig Reynolds
Jahmyr Gibbs has a hamstring injury that is keeping him out of week five. David Montgomery is expected to start and Craig Reynolds will be the backup running back. Reynolds is worth a stash at this point in the event Gibbs’s injury lingers as a David Montgomery injury away from a spot start.
Stash Ke'Shawn Vaughn
Ke'Shawn Vaughn took over the backup running back role in Tampa Bay in week four before the team’s week five bye. Vaughn is a free agent in a high percentage of leagues and will be a recommendation for week 6 waiver articles. This is a good opportunity to add him in advance and stash him without making a waiver bid.
Stash Hunter Renfrow
Hunter Renfrow has been an afterthought in the Las Vegas Raiders offense. This could make Renfrow a trade candidate for teams looking to add depth at the wide receiver position. Teams with openings at wide receiver, like the Carolina Panthers, could be candidates to trade for a wide receiver without a fit in the offense like Chase Claypool was earlier this week. Renfrow is worth a stash this week as you are cleaning up your roster before kickoff.
Stash Marvin Mims Jr.
Marvin Mims has been a small contributor thus far in his rookie season. His teammate Jerry Jeudy has been the topic of trade rumors and Mims would be a candidate to take a step forward in the event of a Jeudy trade.
Stash Darnell Washington
Pat Freiermuth is dealing with a hamstring injury that will keep him out of week five. The Pittsburgh offense has struggled this season, but the Freiermuth injury should give rookie Darnell Washington a chance to audition for a bigger role. He is worth a stash in shallower leagues for teams struggling at tight end.
