Much of the discussion of late in daily fantasy circles has been about how to respond to the fact that many of the popular plays (especially at quarterback and running back) have been hitting at extremely high rates. The number of passers with big time rushing ability has also increased with the emergence of Justin Fields and continued stellar play of Jalen Hurts. The fantasy upside of the top dual-threat passers is unmatched, especially on FanDuel (no 300-yard passing bonuses) and the quarterback pricing is so tightly bunched that there is little salary cap reward for sacrificing a great deal of upside to drop down to a second-tier option. Add it all up and it makes sense to “eat the chalk” at quarterback. At running back, there is one player who is clearly misplaced due to injury (David Montgomery) and it has generally been +EV to play take advantage of these rare injury-related bargains in recent weeks (Tony Pollard, for example).
