In this weekly DraftKings article, we will discuss one cash game stack that should provide a high floor for your 50-50 and H2H cash game contests. This stack is safe to use in your GPP tournaments as well, but it will most likely carry a high ownership percentage. In the second half of this article, we will review some GPP stacks along with three defensive stacks.
*This article focuses on stacks from the DraftKings 13-game main slate and does not include Thursday Night Football, Sunday Night Football, or Monday Night Football.
*I am traveling for work this week and won't be able to go into as much detail as usual with each of the stacks.
$$ Cash GAME STACKS $$
Los Angeles Chargers Stack versus Cleveland Browns
QB Philip Rivers $7,000 with WR Keenan Allen $8,300 (Cash/GPP)
Alternative/Super Stacks: RB Melvin Gordon $7,400 (Cash/GPP) or TE Hunter Henry $4,700 (GPP Only)
The Chargers have the most enticing matchup on the slate as they square off against the winless Cleveland Browns. Rivers has multiple-touchdowns in each of his past three games and four of his past five. Keenan Allen has been “white-hot” over the past two games with 23 receptions for 331 yards and three touchdowns.
GPP STACKS
Here are some GPP stacks with multi-touchdown upside.
New England Patriots Stack at Buffalo Bills
QB Tom Brady $7,800 with WR Brandin Cooks $7,700 (GPP)
Alternate/Super Stacks: TE Rob Gronkowski $7,300 (GPP)
Correlation Play: RB LeSean McCoy $7,600 (GPP)
Tom Brady has continued his dominance with ten touchdowns over his past three games. Since Chris Hogan suffered a shoulder injury during Week 8, Brandin Cooks has emerged with six receptions in each of his past three games and two total touchdowns.
New York Giants Stack at Oakland Raiders
QB Geno Smith $4,500 with WR Sterling Shepard $7,000 (GPP)
Alternative/Super Stacks: TE Evan Engram $5,700 (GPP)
Correlation Play: TE Jared Cook $5,400 (GPP)
Geno Smith is simply in play due to DraftKings pricing him as a backup quarterback. Before Sterling Shepard missed the past two games due to migraines, he finished with 11 receptions for 142 yards against the 49ers.
Jacksonville Jaguars Stack versus Indianapolis Colts
QB Blake Bortles $5,400 with WR Marqise Lee $5,200 (GPP)
Alternative/Super Stacks: WR Dede Westbrook $4,100 (GPP)
Expect most to focus on Leonard Fournette and the Jaguars defense in this game. Stacking Blake Bortles with either Marqise Lee or Dede Westbrook is a differentiation play that could pay huge dividends if either wide receiver is able to break off a long touchdown reception.
New Orleans Saints Stack versus Carolina Panthers
QB Drew Brees $6,500 with WR Michael Thomas $6,900 (GPP)
Alternative/Super Stacks: RB Mark Ingram $7,90000 (GPP) or RB Alvin Kamara $8,400 (GPP)
Correlation Play: WR Devin Funchess $6,800 (GPP) *If practices on Friday*
This is another differentiation stack as most with focus on the Saints rushing attack. Drew Brees has had success against the Panthers zone defense in the past. During Week 3 in Carolina, Brees finished with three touchdowns. Last season Week 6, Brees passed for four touchdowns against the Panthers. Stay the course with Michael Thomas as he has 102 targets (seventh-most) this season.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Green Bay Packers
QB Jameis Winston $5,600 with WR Mike Evans $7,100 (GPP)
Correlation Play: WR Davante Adams $6,500 (GPP) or WR Jordy Nelson $4,400 (GPP)
Jameis Winston is expected to return to the starting lineup this weekend in a favorable spot against the Packers. Since his Week 10 suspension, Mike Evans has 22 targets over his past two games.
DEFENSIVE STACKS (CASH/GPP Tournaments)
There are three defensive stacks that stand out this week for cash or GPPs.
Los Angeles Chargers Stack versus Cleveland Browns
RB Melvin Gordon $7,400 with D/ST Chargers $4,000 (Cash/GPP)
Some may be hesitant to go back to Melvin Gordon after he disappointed over his past couple of games. Gordon is in a “smash” spot as the Chargers will be able to move the ball up and down the field against the Browns.
Los Angeles Rams at Arizona Cardinals
RB Todd Gurley $8,200 with D/ST Rams $3,600 (Cash/GPP)
Todd Gurley has been a workhorse running back all season with at least 16 touches in every game. Expect the Rams to lean on Gurley once again in this road matchup.
Chicago Bears versus San Francisco 49ers
RB Jordan Howard $6,500 with D/ST Bears $3,500 (Cash/GPP)
The Bears should be able to focus on their game plan of “hide-the-quarterback” and feed Jordan Howard against the awful 49ers defense. Howard is one of the top running back values on the slate.
