Underpriced Tight Ends
Name one or two tight ends you'll be chasing because you think they will be too cheap in salary cap drafts.
Jason Wood: Darren Waller is the easy answer; he's my No. 4 tight end, is the only proven commodity in the Giants' passing tree, and should lead the team in targets and red zone looks.
Ben Cummins: Darren Waller has TE1 overall within his range of outcomes as the #1 option in the passing game for Daniel Jones. David Njoku could take a step forward in year two as the clear starting tight end paired with Deshaun Watson.
Andrew Davenport: David Njoku is the first one that pops to mind. If we are looking for signs of a breakout, I don't know what more Njoku could've shown in that regard. He posted his second-most targets and yards in a season, most receptions, and tied for the most touchdowns in his career. He did all this despite missing some time and playing with some other difficult circumstances. His price shouldn't be much more than $4-$7 with a well-timed nomination.
Pat Freiermuth has also been too cheap in most of my salary cap drafts so far. I understand he isn't excited, and that's part of why he sees such a low price, but that's where we should take advantage. He was last year's TE6 (TE9 in points per game) in PPR leagues despite scoring only two touchdowns, largely because his rookie quarterback had an outlier 1.9% touchdown rate. The Steelers offense should take a step forward this year, and Freiermuth can easily match or exceed last year's output for a palatable salary cap price.
Jeff Bell: Dalton Kincaid is a late target. Sam LaPorta is another. I know the narrative that rookie tight ends do not produce, but we are just one season removed from Kyle Pitts topping 1,000 yards. The price of taking a shot on these players is very appetizing.
