Dynasty Football Big Board Week 5

Kevin Coleman's Dynasty Football Big Board Week 5 Kevin Coleman Published 10/04/2023

The appeal of playing dynasty fantasy football is that you never stop building your rosters. There is always time to make moves to help build a contender or rebuild your struggling roster. Now that the 2023 class has come and gone, it's time to start looking ahead to the 2024 class. This season, we will provide fantasy managers with a top-36 big board that will be updated weekly to reflect the top 36 draft-eligible players in college football. The hope is that this big board will give you actual names and value to any draft picks you are trying to trade or acquire. I will also add dynasty content to this article, including players to pivot to or away from, dynasty stashes, dynasty trades, and much more.

Standout Performance

QB Caleb Williams (Jr - USC): 6-foot-1, 215 lbs

Williams has a chance to win a consecutive Heisman trophy this season if he continues to play the way he has played this season. Against Colorado, he threw for 403 yards and six touchdowns, leading them to a thrilling 48-41 victory. If he does win another Heisman, he'll join rare company. Only former running back Ohio State Archie Griffin has captured two Heismans. After five games, Williams has accounted for 24 touchdowns with just one turnover while completing 75% of his passes. Statistically, he is on pace to have an even better season this year than last. He looks like the best prospect since Andrew Luck, and if you have a chance to acquire him in dynasty, you need to do whatever you can to tank.

2024 Draft Pick Values

With the NFL season starting, dynasty leagues are increasingly active, which means more trades are undoubtedly occurring. The whole point of this big board each week is to help you identify where the talent in the current class is and start identifying target areas and tiers to trade for. It's also important to understand market values and what 2024 picks cost in the dynasty market. Below, you will find players currently being moved for 2024 1sts and 2024 2nds.

Dynasty Pivots

Buy - Travis Etienne Jr. (KTC Value - RB7) Age: 24.7

While Etienne's production has been inconsistent this season, the touches are there. Etienne had 23 touches for the third time in four games. That many touches will lead to fantasy production this season, and he has already shown a fairly safe floor. If you have a contending dynasty team that needs a running back, Etienne is a relatively cheap asset to acquire right now that could help you win a championship.

Recent Trades:

Buy - Jaxon Smith-Njigba (KTC Value - WR19) Age: 21.6

We have seen this movie before with players like JSN, a first-round wide receiver who has failed to live up to lofty expectations the first five weeks of the season, which depreciates their value. JSN is still an elite athlete who should easily slot in as the WR2 in this offense in 2024 if they decide to move on from Tyler Lockett. I also expect his numbers to improve as he is still recovering from surgery; he needed to repair a broken bone in his wrist right before the start of the season. The Seahawks should start scheming him ways to get the football and this is your chance to buy an extremely talented wide receiver for a discount.
