In a Superflex league, the loss of an elite quarterback, like Dak Prescott, for an extended period of time can lead you to question the direction of your team.

After one week, you find yourself without a key quarterback. How do you fix your team?
Don’t Panic
The first step: to not panic. The loss of your quarterback will not end your season immediately. To measure the impact, use the Rule of 8.
In Superflex leagues with 10 starting positions, 112 points of the course of the fantasy regular season is the marginal point value of a win. In other words, if Team A scores 112 points more than Team B over the 14-game regular season, you can expect Team A to have a win more than Team B.
Over a 14-game regular season, this equates to 8 points per game, hence the Rule of 8.
The Rule of 8 is helpful in this context. If you lose your quarterback for the entire fantasy football season and the replacement option in your lineup projects 8 points lower per game, you expect your team to win one less game.
In the case of Prescott, where you expect to lose him for less than the season, the difference is smaller. You might take an 8-point downgrade in your lineup, but if Prescott returns to form in 7 weeks, you have lost 56 points or one-half of a win during his absence.
