Kansas City Chiefs at Seattle Seahawks Single Game Showdown Slate
This article is a new feature which will break down the single-game slates on DraftKings and FanDuel guiding you which players to play and where to play them.
STRATEGY- CAPTAIN AND MVP POSITIONS
FanDuel-
On FanDuel the pricing of the MVP is the same as if they are not in the MVP position. This limits the strategy as you really want to take the player that you believe is going to score the most points which is often your most expensive player or a player who has the most upside on your roster.
DraftKings-
On DraftKings, the strategy is a little bit more complex as the players are priced at 1.5x their flex position if you play them in the captain position. This creates an intriguing strategy as while the top priced player may score the most points, it often limits you on the rest of your build. Often times, putting in a player who can have a big day but not in the captain spot will allow you to build the rest of your roster with a higher point potential.
PLAYER OVERVIEW-
Damien Williams- $10,500 DraftKings Captain, $7,000 DraftKings Flex, $11,000 FanDuel Flex
With Spencer Ware looking doubtful heading into this game, it should once again be Damien Williams who will see a majority of the work in Ware’s place. Williams last week caught six passes and saw 10 of the team’s 12 carries last week. He is an electric runner when he gets out in space and should continue to see high volume in the passing game as outside of Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce, the Chiefs have very little options with Sammy Watkins also being out in this game. He makes for an excellent DraftKings Captain player as his reduced salary allows you to spend up elsewhere.
Usable in: DraftKings Captain, DraftKings Flex, FanDuel Flex,
Tyreek Hill- $15,300 DraftKings Captain, $10,200 DraftKings Flex, $13,000 FanDuel
Tyreek Hill has been struggling as of late as in two of his last three games he has less than 50 yards. However, this is a perfect rebound position for the speedster who is going up against a Seahawks team that will likely be without their two starting safeties in Bradley McDougald and Tedric Thompson. This is a defense that even when healthy has struggled with speed receivers as Dante Pettis had 212 yards in their two meetings over the last three weeks. Hill is a much better play and almost a must play on FanDuel at just $13,000 and still a very solid play due to his upside on DraftKings.
Usable in: DraftKings Captain, DraftKings Flex, FanDuel MVP, FanDuel Flex,
Chris Carson- $8,700 DraftKings Captain $5,800 DraftKings Flex, $8,500 FanDuel
This is a nice spot for Chris Carson who continues to see a heavy dosage of volume. Last week, Carson had 28 touches and is going up against one of the worst rushing defense in the NFL in the Kansas City Chiefs who have allowed the 7th most rushing yards and the most rushing yards per attempt. This is a unit that is designed to stop the pass and struggles as they have some of the worst linebackers in football in Reggie Ragland and Anthony Hitchens. Carson is a better play on FanDuel due to his price, but he is in play for both sites.
Usable in: DraftKings Captain, DraftKings Flex, FanDuel MVP, FanDuel Flex,
Patrick Mahomes II- $18,000 DraftKings Captain $12,000 DraftKings Flex, $18,000 FanDuel
If you go with Mahomes, you’re going to have to make some major sacrifices, but it may be worth it if you’re looking for a player with a high floor especially if you’re playing in a cash game. While Mahomes has not been the dominant player we have become accustomed to over the last two weeks, he’s likely faced the two best secondaries in back to back weeks. That won’t be an issue this week as the Seahawks secondary is not a particularly good one. This is a unit that has allowed nearly 700 yards to Nick Mullens in two of the last three weeks and without both of the safeties could lead to a rough day for Seattle. The issue in playing Mahomes is it likely prevents you from getting the playmakers around him, so for it to work especially if you play him in the DraftKings Captain spot, you will need players such as Chris Conley or Demarcus Robinson to have a big game.
Usable in: DraftKings Captain, DraftKings Flex, FanDuel MVP, FanDuel Flex,
Ed Dickson- $300 DraftKings Captain $200 DraftKings Flex, $4,500 FanDuel
Simply put, there’s no analysis to tell you to start Ed Dickson other than he has been on the field for 55% of the snaps or more in three of the last four games. If you’re playing Dickson this week, there is one reason it allows you to build a tremendous lineup. If Dickson can somehow find the end-zone you’re going to have a massive week with the rest of your lineup build.
