KEY THURSDAY MEDIA UPDATES
***Stefon Diggs traveled to London with the team and fully practiced on Thursday. While he wouldn't confirm he was playing this weekend -- he told reporters his status was up to Mike Zimmer and the medical staff -- he said he was close to returning last week and was ready to play this week. If his groin strain responds well to Thursday's full practice, he may be able to play without limitation this week. Hope for a full practice on Friday so we'll not have to divine whether Diggs will be limited if he's active.
***Sean Payton said Michael Thomas did not have a significant or long-term injury before his limited practice today. He's likely to play.
***Golden Tate practiced again this week and said he had no limitations in his shoulder and was continuing to work on his range of motion and strength. It's not yet clear whether he'll be cleared for contact this week but he's trending toward playing. The news is not as reassuring on Kenny Golladay, who was held out of practice on Thursday after a limited Wednesday workout.
***There was no news on Melvin Gordon after Thursday's practice. The Chargers have become one of the league's most under-reported teams this year. Still, the local reporters have had some information whenever there's been any concern on Gordon, who has played every week he's been on the injury report. I don't believe there's anything to worry over with Gordon but I'll be monitoring Friday developments closely.
***Emmanuel Sanders was talking to the media on Thursday but only cleared to run on the side and continue rehab today. He has an extra day to prepare for Monday night.
***As feared, Myles Garrett was ruled out with a concussion and will not make the trip to London.
EARLY WEEK PRACTICE PARTICIPATION REPORT AND EARLY EXPECTATIONS
The Wednesday and Thursday practice participation reports are our first chance to see which players each NFL team are limiting in practice after the previous week's games. Players limited in mid-week practice aren't necessarily in danger of missing that week's game. But they all need to be watched closely.
