In this weekly article, we will provide you with some popular "chalk" stacks and some "under the radar" stacks to use in your DraftKings GPP tournaments. (GPPs)
Welcome to the NFL DFS playoffs! This weekend we have four games on the schedule. With the reduction in overall games, there will be overlap at every position. The "under the radar" stacks will not carry as much of a lower ownership percentage as usual due to a lack of games. In order to conquer a GPP this weekend it is a necessary roster the correct stack and build around it. Rostering a double stack (1 QB with 2 receivers from the same team) will be more popular this weekend. For the playoffs, I recommend playing less of your daily bankroll (25%-30%) as compared to most NFL weeks.
CHALK STACKS
Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals, Team Total 24.5 points
QB Ben Roethlisberger $7,200-WR Antonio Brown $9,600 Total Stack $16,800 (33.6% of salary)
QB Ben Roethlisberger $7,200-WR Martavis Bryant $5,600 Total Stack $12,800 (25.6% of salary)
QB Ben Roethlisberger $7,200-WR Markus Wheaton $4,000 Total Stack $11,200 (22.4% of salary)
The Steelers are 2.5 point road favorites at Cincinnati. The game has the highest total (46.5) of the weekend and the Steelers have the highest team total (24.5). The Steelers are expected to be without RB DeAngelo Williams which means they will take to the air early and often. Ben Roethlisberger is the highest priced QB and will carry a large ownership percentage. A Roethlisberger/Brown stack is easy to fit this weekend due to the lack of high priced RBs. If playing multiple GPP contests, I recommend having at least 15-20% exposure to the Steelers offense.
Seattle Seahawks at Minnesota Vikings, Team Total 23.5 points
QB Russell Wilson $7,000-WR Doug Baldwin $6,700 Total Stack $13,700 (27.4% of salary)
QB Russell Wilson $7,000-WR Tyler Lockett $4,400 Total Stack $11,400 (22.8% of salary)
QB Russell Wilson $7,000-WR Jermaine Kearse $3,300 Total Stack $10,300 (20.6% of salary)
The Seahawks are 5.5 point road favorites in Minnesota. The game total is a low 41.5 points but Seattle has one of the highest team totals of the weekend at 23.5 points. Russell Wilson is the hottest QB in the league and will also carry a large ownership percentage. Wilson has averaged 28.4 DraftKings fantasy points over the past 7 weeks. Doug Baldwin has been the main beneficiary and will be the most popular option to stack with Wilson. If looking to differentiate your stack, Tyler Lockett and Jermaine Kearse are alternative options.
UNDER THE RADAR STACKS
Washington Redskins vs. Green Bay Packers, Team Total 23.25 points
QB Kirk Cousins $5,900-TE Jordan Reed $6,300 Total Stack $12,200 (24.4% of salary)
QB Kirk Cousins $5,900-WR DeSean Jackson $4,500 Total Stack $10,400 (20.8% of salary)
The Redskins are a 1 point home favorites with one of the highest team totals (23.25) of the weekend. Kirk Cousins has been much better at home averaging 23.4 fantasy points as compared to 17.7 on the road. He will keep it going this weekend as the Packers limp into FedEx Field. Jordan Reed will be the most popular TE to roster this weekend but many will not pair him with Cousins. DeSean Jackson will carry a lower ownership potential and always is a threat for a deep touchdown.
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Pittsburgh Steelers, Team Total 22 points
QB A.J. McCarron $5,200-WR A.J. Green $7,500 Total Stack $12,700 (25.4% of salary)
QB A.J. McCarron $5,200-TE Tyler Eifert $5,000 Total Stack $10,200 (20.4% of salary)
The Bengals are 2.5 point home underdogs vs. the Steelers. Vegas has this game projected for the most total points (46.5) this weekend. All signs point to McCarron starting the game. This will shift ownership percentage over to the Steelers offense. I envision this game turning into a shootout due to the Steelers defense. A.J. Green has done well historically vs. the Steelers. This season, Green had 31.8 points in Week 8 and 28.2 points in Week 14 vs. the Steelers. Tyler Eifert led all TE with 13 touchdowns and has multiple touchdown upside in this matchup.
