Scouting Report

Reggie Virgil's last two years have been meteoric. Virgil was a three-star recruit who was an all-state player in Florida, though he received offers only from Miami (OH) and Eastern Kentucky. He admitted to some off-field trouble, which may have played a part in the lack of offers, but has spoken about positive changes that got him on track. At Miami, he played little in his first two seasons until a breakout in 2024 that earned him second-team All-MAC. He was one of the hottest players in the portal, earning offers from Georgia and Michigan before choosing Texas Tech. In Lubbock, he immediately became the starter opposite fellow 2026 draft hopeful Caleb Douglas, leading the team in receptions and earning a spot in the Senior Bowl.

Virgil is a technically sound receiver whose high points enter wow territory. Texas Tech runs a spread offense rooted in the Air Raid that puts receivers in motion frequently and demands interchangeable roles. Virgil fit like a glove. His standout trait may be the lack of one. He showed comfort tracking the ball downfield and precision with little wasted movement in his routes. Like teammate Douglas, Virgil is an underrated player who could hear his name called on Day 2.

Rundown

Virgil offers a well-rounded skillset with technical refinement and excellent length, bringing the ability to fit into multiple schemes. A fast riser who was lightly recruited out of high school, Virgil is underrated to begin the draft process.
