Scouting Report

Jaden Nixon was a three-star recruit out of high school and started his college career at Oklahoma State. He played his first three years there, establishing himself as an explosive rusher, receiver, and kick returner. In his fourth year, he transferred to Western Michigan, where he had his best season, amassing 1,475 all-purpose yards. In the lead-up to 2025, he entered the transfer portal again, transferring to UCF and replacing RJ Harvey as the team's top back. Nixon logged another season with over 1,000 all-purpose yards at UCF, although his production, usage, and efficiency dipped slightly against better competition.

Nixon is undersized, but he has burst and speed that allow him to consistently evade defenders. His usage as a kick returner gives him an instinctive understanding of spacing on explosive plays, weaving through traffic without losing a step. Despite his small stature, he keeps his pads low and survives contact, allowing teams to keep him on the field in various situations. Nixon's college receiving numbers are gaudy, but he doesn't win as a pure route runner. Coaches often designed plays to get him the ball in space. He also struggles as a pass-blocker. Given his size, he'll likely need to improve his route running and blocking to find a role as a rotational back in the pros.

Rundown

Nixon is a big-play threat with explosive, effortless movements, but he needs refinement in his receiving and blocking to excel at the next level.
