Scouting Report

Chris Bell followed a steady path of progression through his four-year career, ultimately evolving into a first-team All-ACC receiver. Coach Jeff Brohm took over Bell's sophomore season of 2023, moving Bell into a supporting role next to current Browns receiver Jamari Thrash. 2024 was similar, with Bell serving as Tyler Shough's second target behind the Commanders' Ja'Corey Brooks. Bell ran with his opportunity in 2025, placing sixth in the ACC in receiving yards until a torn ACL ended his season. The ACL injury will hold him out of the predraft run-up and cast significant doubt on his draft stock.

Bell has excellent strength as a prototype X receiver outside. The presence of NFL-caliber teammates provided the opportunity to develop into a well-rounded receiver. He is comfortable coming into the slot and working both the sideline on out-breaking routes and in-breaking over the middle, where he meets defenders with violence. Bell is reported as a 4.4 guy in the 40, though that speed did not always show, as he often played in contested-catch situations. The ACL is a hurdle to recovering his athleticism. He looked like an early Day 2 player, but the injury will likely push him to Day 3.

Rundown

Bell is a physical receiver who blossomed into a first-team All-ACC player in his fourth college season. However, that ended with a torn ACL, an injury that will knock him out of the predraft process and likely push him down the draft board.
