Scouting Report

Bryce Lance might best answer the question: What if Trey Lance had played wide receiver? The younger brother of the former No. 3 overall pick is not coasting on name value. He holds the North Dakota St. record for receiving touchdowns in a season, with 17. He also has two of the school's four highest receiving-yardage seasons, earning first-team all-Missouri Valley Conference honors each of the last two seasons. Lance is on the older side of the prospect class, turning 24 as the 2026 season kicks off, the polar opposite of his brother, who was 20 years old when drafted in 2021. He could have transferred to a major program, but cited his relationship with his teammates and the chance to win championships at North Dakota State as his reasons for staying.

Lance used his length effectively as an outside receiver. A Bruce Feldman Freaks List member, Lance has posted a 40-inch vertical and a 10-10 broad jump. He will need to answer some questions about overall speed during the predraft process; his estimates are all over the board, potentially due to the level of competition. He exhibits natural body control paired with strong hands, putting multiple highlight-level plays in the vertical passing game on his tape, including a one-handed touchdown that proved the decisive score in the FCS semifinals. He looks suited to a supporting role, though standing out at the small-school level can yield varied outcomes.

Rundown

While the tag of Trey Lance's younger brother is unescapable, Bryce Lance has clearly earned his opportunity. He has excellent size and showcased a high level of ability to play the ball downfield. Lance will need to answer some speed questions, but he can be a riser.
