Aaron Anderson Scouting Report - WR, LSU

Aaron Anderson was an elite recruit out of New Orleans as the WR5 in the 2022 class. He flipped from LSU to Alabama late in the recruiting process, decommitting when LSU fired coach Ed Orgeron. Anderson spent one injury-plagued year in Tuscaloosa before transferring "home" to LSU. In 2024, Anderson stepped up following the departures of Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr. to lead LSU in receiving. Injuries, increased receiver depth, and an LSU offensive failure that led to Brian Kelly's dismissal held him back in 2025. The injuries were multiple, smaller issues, including knee inflammation and an elbow strain, nothing expected to impact the start of his NFL career. 

Anderson's athleticism is evident, though his size may limit his overall utility. LSU kept him in the slot, where he was impactful as a receiver who could create quick separation and make plays in the vertical passing game. His quick twitch aids his route running and allows him to create with the ball in his hands. He contributed on special teams, adding a path to NFL utility. Despite his short stature, he is a strong receiver, a trait he uses after the catch and to complete plays in the air. Anderson should land late on Day 2 or early on Day 3.
