Dynasty Roundtable: 2 Rookie RBs Creating Panic

So much of the Dynasty offseason revolves around rookies. Their debut is the most exciting part of the early season. But this year's batch has seen multiple troubling starts. We wanted to ask our staff where they stood.

Which rookie are you ready to bail on completely after two weeks of games?

No One

Jeff Blaylock: Two weeks of games aren't enough for me to bail on any rookies I hadn't already dismissed before the season started. I'm not concerned about Colston Loveland's two catches for 12 yards, Omarion Hampton's fumble (and his 3.1 yards per carry), Ashton Jeanty's 2.7 yards per carry, or Matthew Golden's two catches for 15 yards. They're rookies. Many rookies start slow. Trust the process, folks. However, if you're in a league with me and want to bail on any of these guys, I'll gladly take them off your hands.

Almost No One

Josh Fahlsing: It drives me crazy, but I agree with Blaylock. If I liked them enough to draft them in the early rounds of a rookie draft, or if I wanted them as a lottery ticket in the later rounds, I am not ready to bail on them after two games. Kaleb Johnson is a guy who has me slightly concerned, though. After two games, he has three fewer rushing yards than Aaron Rodgers. That sounds bad enough, but here’s the real fun: Johnson has 2 yards. It’s a long season, and there is plenty of time for Johnson to pay off our springtime faith in him, but this is the definition of an inauspicious start.

Mike Kashuba: I don't want to just pile on Johnson, but the guys are right - it might be time to panic. For most rookies, we understand that it takes time to earn playing time and to develop trust with their coaching staffs. But Johnson is doing everything in his power to stay off the field, and that didn't change in Week 2. It might not be time to bail, but dynasty managers certainly aren't getting a trade offer for the same price they used to pick him in their rookie drafts.
