Draft week continues at Footballguys! The Top 100 Big Board removes team needs and fit considerations, ranking the Top 100 players in the class based on their merits alone. Positional value is a consideration in instances like running back Ashton Jeanty, compared to blue-chip positions like edge rusher, cornerback, or wide receiver, in the cases of Abdul Carter and Travis Hunter.

As part of draft week and to get some context on where these players may land, check out my three-round Mock Draft 2.0, published on Monday. Sigmund Bloom has released his always great Pre-Draft Bloom 100My Dynasty Show co-host, Dave Kluge, and I will both release our final mock drafts later this week. And the entire Footballguys crew will be going live on both Thursday and Friday night during the draft, covering reactions to every pick as they happen.

Blue chip positions are defined as quarterback, wide receiver, offensive tackle, edge rusher, and cornerback. These positions have been prioritized historically in the draft.

Tier 1 Rookies

Positional value forces players to the top of this class. Hunter is one of the rarest players ever to enter the draft, having a legitimate case as the top cornerback and top wide receiver in the class. Carter's prowess at a blue chip position puts him in this tier as well. Tennessee's need at quarterback forces them to Cam Ward, but these two are the clear top position players.

1. Travis Hunter (WR/CB - Colorado)
2. Abdul Carter (EDGE - Penn St.)

Tier 2 Rookies

This tier is comprised of elite players at positions that have been devalued or high-end prospects at valuable positions that lack elite status. Jeanty is the closest to stepping into the next tier, only held back by the devaluation running backs have seen in the draft. Ward has been routinely cited as the likely QB7 in 2024's loaded quarterback class. He still stands ahead of the current group of quarterbacks, and in a draft short on top-end talent, his positional value is pushing him to the top.

3. Ashton Jeanty (RB - Boise St.)
4. Cam Ward (QB - Miami)
5. Will Campbell (OT - LSU)
6. Mason Graham (DT - Michigan)
7. Armand Membou (OT - Missouri)
8. Jihaad Campbell (LB - Alabama)
9. Tyler Warren (TE - Penn St.)
10. Colston Loveland (TE - Michigan)

Tier 3 Rookies

It would be surprising to see these players outside of Round 1. Players in this tier who play blue-chip positions have questions about their profile, often due to injuries, production concerns, or physical limitations that may limit their upside.

11. Omarion Hampton (RB - North Carolina)
12. Jahdae Barron (CB - Texas)
13. Shemar Stewart (EDGE - Texas A&M)
14. Jalon Walker (EDGE - Georgia)
15. Shedeur Sanders (QB - Colorado)
16. Nick Emmanwori (S - South Carolina)
17. Walter Nolen (DT - Ole Miss)
18. Josh Simmons (OT - Ohio St.)
19. Tetairoa McMillan (WR - Arizona)
20. Will Johnson (CB - Michigan)
21. Derrick Harmon (DT - Oregon)
22. TreVeyon Henderson (RB - Ohio St.)
23. Malaki Starks (S - Georgia)
24. Mykel Williams (EDGE - Georgia)
25. Kenneth Grant (DT - Michigan)
26. Kelvin Banks (OT - Texas)

Tier 4 Rookies

Several of these players will go in Round 1, but it should not be shocking to see any of them fall into Round 2. It would be surprising to see any go inside the Top 15.

27. Donovan Ezeiruaku (EDGE - Boston College)
28. Nic Scourton (EDGE - Texas A&M)
29. Josh Conerly Jr. (OT - Oregon)
30. Donovan Jackson (OL - Ohio St.)
31. Grey Zabel (OL - North Dakota St)
32. Emeka Egbuka (WR - Ohio St.)
33. Maxwell Hairston (CB - Kentucky)
34. Jalen Milroe (QB - Alabama)
35. Mike Green (EDGE - Marshall)
36. Tyler Booker (OL - Alabama)
37. Matthew Golden (WR - Texas)

Tier 5 Rookies

These players have a chance to go in Round 1 but are most likely to populate the second round. There are multiple blue-chip positional players, but they face more questions on their profiles than the previous tier.

38. Trey Amos (CB - Ole Miss)
39. Mason Taylor (TE - LSU)
40. James Pearce Jr. (EDGE - Tennessee)
41. Jaxson Dart (QB - Ole Miss)
42. Luther Burden III (WR - Missouri)
43. Shavon Revel Jr. (CB - East Carolina)
44. JT Tuimoloau (EDGE - Ohio St.)
45. Oluwafemi Oladejo (EDGE - UCLA)
46. Azareye'h Thomas (CB - Florida St.)
47. Xavier Watts (S - Notre Dame)
48. Landon Jackson (EDGE - Arkansas)
49. Carson Schwesinger (LB - UCLA)

Tier 6 Rookies

It would be surprising to see this tier in the first round, but it is comprised of players who have high upside and should be off the board in Round 2.

50. Benjamin Morrison (CB - Notre Dame)
51. Jaylin Noel (WR - Iowa St.)
52. Darius Alexander (DT - Toledo)
53. Jonah Savaiinaea (OL - Arizona)
54. Quinshon Judkins (RB - Ohio St.)
55. Aireontae Ersery (OT - Minnesota)
56. Elijah Arroyo (TE - Miami)
57. Tyleik Williams (DT - Ohio St.)
58. Darien Porter (CB - Iowa St.)
59. Tre Harris (WR - Ole Miss)

Tier 7 Rookies

Math suggests that some of these players will be selected in the second round, but expect most to be picked in Round 3.

60. Shemar Turner (DT - Texas A&M)
61. Marcus Mbow (OT - Purdue)
62. Terrance Ferguson (TE - Oregon)
63. Harold Fannin Jr. (TE - Bowling Green)
64. Charles Grant (OT - William & Mary)
65. Jared Wilson (OL - Georgia)
66. Ty Robinson (DL - Nebraska)
67. Kaleb Johnson (RB - Iowa)
68. Kyle Williams (WR - Washington St.)
69. Alfred Collins (DT - Texas)
70. Jordan Burch (EDGE - Oregon)
71. Jack Sawyer (EDGE - Ohio St.)
72. Tate Ratledge (OG - Georgia)

Tier 8 Rookies

This tier should hear their name called on Day 2, but could slip into Day 3.
73. Jacob Parrish (CB - Kansas St.)
74. Tai Felton (WR - Maryland)
75. Jack Bech (WR - TCU)
76. Dylan Sampson (RB - Tennessee)
77. T.J. Sanders (DT - South Carolina)
78. Princely Umanmielen (EDGE - Ole Miss)
79. Ozzy Trapilo (OL - Boston College)
80. Elijah Roberts (DL - SMU)
81. Bradyn Swinson (EDGE - LSU)
82. Nohl Williams (CB - Cal)
83. Kevin Winston Jr. (S - Penn St.)
84. Miles Frazier (OL - LSU)
85. Anthony Belton (OT - North Carolina St.)
86. Jayden Higgins (WR- Iowa St.)
87. Josaiah Stewart (EDGE - Michigan)
88. Elic Ayomanor (WR - Stanford)
89. Tyler Shough (QB - Louisville)
90. Ashton Gillotte (EDGE - Louisville)
91. Elijah Ponder (EDGE - Cal Poly)
92. Joshua Farmer (DT - Florida St.)
