Jeff Bell's Dynasty Buys: 8 Players to Trade For Jeff Bell Published 05/29/2024

Dynasty values can shift off the slightest bit of news. In the desert of the NFL offseason, a viral social media explosion can be all that is needed to create value shifts.

This creates windows to sell and to buy. Our staff discusses players with values worth capitalizing on right now.

Below, you'll see eight players our staff would trade for.

Dynasty Buy: Kendre Miller, New Orleans

Hutchinson Brown - People like to forget that Kendre Miller was an extremely productive college running back. He put up over 1,300 yards as a junior at TCU and was incredibly efficient with the football, both as a runner and with limited opportunities as a pass catcher. Last year as a rookie, injuries essentially took his entire rookie season away. When he was healthy, though, he flashed. This season, he has a backfield here in New Orleans where the only main player in his way is a nearly 30-year-old Alvin Kamara. Lots of opportunity here for Miller!

Dynasty Buy: Derrick Henry, Baltimore

Jason Wood - This answer depends entirely on whether you’re legitimately in a title window this season. In years when I see my roster as a contender, I get aggressive in acquiring aging veterans who can still be elite this season, but rebuilding teams discount massively relative to their redraft value. Derrick Henry fits the bill this year as his dynasty ranking (RB22) discounts what I believe will be a top 6-8 season this year in a perfect offense for his skill set. On the other hand, I would target Jahan Dotson if you're in a rebuilding mode. He’s only 24 years old and was the toast of the fantasy landscape nine months ago, and Terry McLaurin is 29 years old and has no guaranteed money beyond 2024.

Dynasty Buy: Jayden Reed, Green Bay

Ryan Weisse - I'm trying to buy Jayden Reed in every league I'm in. There appeared to be a real connection forged with Jordan Love last season and I expect that to continue for the foreseeable future. He was 2nd on the team in targets last year and really broke out after the team's Week 6 bye. From Week 7 on, he was the WR7 in fantasy. Most consensus rankings do not have in the Top 25 for dynasty, and I'll buy that gap.

 Dynasty Buy: Ezekiel Elliott, Dallas

Andy Hicks - Due to his current situation, I am all over Ezekiel Elliott. He may have lost a step, but not his vision and talent. The depth chart behind him should see the veteran with 200-plus carries, including the goal-line carries. Add 50-plus receptions, and you are in for a very solid 2024 fantasy season. At this stage of his career, the durable Elliott can only be relied on for one year, but sign me up for a high-end RB2 year at a low price.

Dynasty Buy: Mike Gesicki, Cincinnati

Matt Montgomery - Call me crazy, but I believe there’s a significant chance Gesicki ends up being a Top 5 tight end this season. The Bengals have never been effective at the position since Burrow has been around, but Gesicki may be the most athletic one they've had since he arrived. Everyone knows the duo of receivers is elite, so they'll gather the most attention, while Gesicki will feast in the middle of the field. Tight end is a position that can create an edge for your roster, and I believe Gesicki can provide one at a fair cost.

Dynasty Buys: Austin Ekeler, Washington and Gus Edwards, LA Chargers

Leo Paciga - Why give you one trade target when I can name two regardless of rebuilding or title-chasing strategies? The variance is there to capitalize on by executing a buy now and flip later blueprint or simply benefiting from the production. Austin Ekeler's sharp decline last year had everything to do with a high ankle injury sustained in week 1. Now healthy and part of the Washington Commander’s backfield, Ekeler is positioned for a nice bounce-back season, especially when you factor in his cost - RB 34 on FBG’s dynasty rankings and generally ranked in the 40s on consensus value boards. My other target is Gus Edwards for basically the same reasons. An afterthought for many dynasty players, Edwards has very little competition on a Chargers team focused on establishing the running game early and often. With a current price point of RB48 on FBG’s dynasty rankings, Edwards is a boring, high-floor, buy-cheap player to target and profit from in season.

Dynasty Buy: Antonio Gibson, New England

Jeff Bell - Consider me a sucker for a buy-low, post-hype sleeper. Gibson sits at a value of RB56 on Keeptradecut.com, at the back tier of the backup running back group. New offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt ran the Browns' offenses that split Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt, creating usable fantasy pieces in both. Gibson’s past as a receiver and a receiving back is well documented. He never became the “next Christian McCaffrey,” but landing in Ron Rivera’s doghouse was too harsh of an outcome for a player who topped 1,000 scrimmage yards and ten touchdowns in both of his first two seasons. The Patriots offense is starved for consistent playmakers, and potentially playing a rookie quarterback, the team will hunt easy options. Gibson can have stand-alone value, especially in PPR formats, with the potential for much more if Rhamondre Stevenson misses any time.
