Bo Nix was drafted by the Denver Broncos with the 12th pick of Round 1, according to Ian Rapoport.
Fantasy Football Impact for Bo Nix
Bo Nix is the favorite to open the year as the Denver Broncos starting quarterback. Currently, Nix's primary targets will be Courtland Sutton, Marvin Mims, and Greg Dulcich. Nix profiles as a dynasty and redraft QB2 for 2024 unless the Broncos add other significant weapons.
Nix struggled to begin his college career at Auburn but experienced significant improvements after he transferred to Oregon in 2022. In 2023, Nix had the highest completion percentage and total number of touchdowns among this year's rookie quarterback class. His most extensive critique, however, was that 28 percent of his passes were behind the line of scrimmage. Despite that, Nix still touted a 68 completion percentage on passes that traveled 10 to 20 yards downfield.
Nix has flashed upside and will have an entire offseason to learn an offense under Head Coach Sean Payton. Expect the Broncos to be conservative to open the year until Nix becomes comfortable.
The Fantasy Football Fallout
The addition of Bo Nix buoys the fantasy value of the Broncos' receiving weapons. Courtland Sutton should open the year as a low-end WR2 who could be selected in the later portion of drafts. Second-year wide receiver Marvin Mims could also see a rise to WR2 status depending on how Sean Payton chooses to deploy him with Nix. Greg Dulcich has the athletic traits of a TE1 but has had a turbulent start to his career. He should still be viewed as a TE2 in 2024, pending a massive improvement from Nix.
