Before entering a rebuild, take a complete inventory. Do you have your future draft picks? Are you set up at key spots like a quarterback in a Superflex league or a young crop of wide receivers?
Perhaps most importantly, what can you liquidate off your roster?
It is foundational advice to say “trade veterans” in a rebuild. However, as discussed in 4 Dynasty Wide Receivers to Target If You're Rebuilding, the situation may not be suitable for moving now.
Wide receivers you want to liquidate are veterans who are more likely to lose value. More aptly, these are wide receivers with a solid chance of losing value. In some cases, that value loss can be significant.
Here are four wide receivers you should look to sell in Dynasty, along with some recently completed trades from FantasyCalc.
WR to Trade Away: Deebo Samuel Sr., San Francisco
Samuel is currently Dynasty’s version of Schrodinger’s Cat. Brandon Aiyuk hangs in limbo as the team has not agreed on a new contract. Fortunately, the hyper-reactive market is poised to capture any increase in value, already moving Samuel up from WR32 to WR26 during the Aiyuk saga.
But how much higher can Samuel climb if Aiyuk were gone?
We know how vital age is for dynasty value, and Tyreek Hill is the only player older than Samuel, who is above him on Keeptradecut.com. Meanwhile, many young players sit just behind Samuel, including Brian Thomas, Xavier Worthy, Rashee Rice, Ladd McConkey, Jordan Addison, and Jayden Reed. Any of these players are primed to jump him with proof of concept.
We are often tempted to hold and try to sell at an extreme high. Anyone who dabbled in NFTs, NBA Top Shot, or other fads can attest to the value of selling at a profit. Players can profit from Samuel in almost any circumstance, trading on the hope of an Aiyuk-less future while insulating themselves against any downside.

WR to Trade Away: Amari Cooper, Cleveland
Cooper is fascinating. He disappointed managers through the fantasy regular season, sitting as WR27 in .5 PPR and dropping to Dynasty WR47. He then exploded in the first round of the fantasy playoffs with 11 catches, 265 yards, and two touchdowns, resulting in a jump to WR30.
Environmentally, not much changed to benefit Cooper for a big 2024. The team added Jerry Jeudy and then immediately gave him a new contract. Meanwhile, Cooper had a contract dispute and popped up in trade rumors.
He is one of only five wide receivers aged 30 or older inside the top 40.
At this point, Cooper is a time bomb. He has little room to improve his dynasty stock and ample risk in his profile. Capitalize on his value now.

WR to Trade Away: Christian Kirk, Jacksonville
Kirk’s value peaked at WR22 in October of 2022. Since then, he’s remained steady in the WR35 to WR45 range with a value equivalent to a late 1st or an early 2nd.
That stable value is surprising, given that he turned in a pedestrian WR28 season before injuries cost his last five games. He was out-targeted (85) by Evan Engram (143) and Calvin Ridley (136). Ridley is gone, but the Jaguars invested a first-round pick on Brian Thomas Jr. and gave Gabe Davis the second-biggest contract of any free agent wide receiver at $39 million.
It may be his delayed breakout, but no one has noticed he is already entering his age 28 season. He has just one above 80 receptions and over 1,000 yards through his first six seasons. If Engram continues the target dominance he earned to close 2023 and Thomas or Davis are immediate contributors, there is very little to insulate Kirk’s value.
Kirk has nowhere to go but down, especially considering he is valued ahead of rookies like Ja’Lynn Polk or Xavier Legette, who would leap him at the first sign of success. That volatility has no place on a rebuilder.
Completed Trades from FantasyCalc

- Christian Kirk for Javonte Williams
- Christian Kirk and 2026 2nd for Ladd McConkey and 2026 3rd
- Christian Kirk for 2025 1st
WR to Trade Away: Rashid Shaheed, New Orleans
Shaheed is found money. As an undrafted free agent in 2022, he only had a rookie profile in the deepest leagues. Between a wide-open target share outside of Chris Olave and a positive stream of camp news, he is primed for a takeoff.
Profiling as a cheat code in one of the fantasy football industry's offseason main events, the Scott Fish charity tournament, is not bad for raising a profile. Shaheed sits at WR64, valued slightly more than a future 2nd on Keeptradecut.com.
Shaheed’s standing as a 26-year-old with no draft capital will almost always limit his ceiling for Dynasty value. There are two distinct paths. If Shaheed hits as a reliable fantasy producer, it adds points to your rebuilding roster while your league-mates continue to lowball trade offers skeptically.
If he does not, his value will be instantly gone, and he will become closer to waiver fodder.
