We know we're officially into NFL Draft season when the Scouting Combine officially comes around each year in Indianapolis.

NFL executives and coaches from all 32 teams descend into Indy to find the potential next face of their franchise, and it all starts here.

In this series of articles, we'll be breaking down the notable news from each day of the heralded event, some impressive performances, and the latest rumors that you need to know.

2023 NFL Combine Recap: Day 4

Notable News Of the Day

Jalen Carter was back in Indianapolis on Thursday.

It was certainly a whirlwind 24 hours for Carter. After a warrant was issued for his arrest on Wednesday morning, he traveled back from Indianapolis to Athens and posted bond at 11:49 pm Eastern and returned to the NFL Combine on Thursday morning. He bypassed athletic testing and instead spent the day answering questions from NFL teams about the context surrounding the incident and everything that occurred. We'll have to wait for the dust to settle a little bit on this one before we can determine the extent of the impact it'll have on his NFL Draft stock.

Anthony Richardson has met with multiple teams.

One of the projected top QB prospects in the 2023 NFL Draft has plenty of teams intrigued with his potential. He's reportedly now met with the Colts, the Panthers, the Falcons, the Raiders, the Ravens, the Saints, the Giants, the Lions, and the New England Patriots. We may need to lock Richardson into the Top 10 at this point.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers released Cameron Brate.

Brate's been a part of the Buccaneers franchise since 2014, but his contract needed to come off the books as the team looks to free up room under the salary cap. This means that Cade Otton is the TE1 for this offense, which will put him more squarely onto the fantasy radar. It all depends on who Tampa Bay rolls out there as the starting quarterback in Week 1, though, to determine Otton's ceiling from a fantasy standpoint.

Alvin Kamara pleads not guilty in his ongoing legal case.

Kamara's had a legal case hanging over his head since last offseason that's frightened fantasy managers a bit because of the potential of a suspension. The next step in that legal proceeding was today, where Kamara pleaded not guilty, and his trial is now set for July 31, 2023. Kamara should be hands-off from a fantasy standpoint until we get a resolution on that situation.

Highlight performances

Calijah Kancey ran an official 4.67 40-yard dash at 281 pounds.

This was the fastest time recorded by a defensive tackle at the NFL Combine since 2003! Kancey was flying out there, and he most certainly improved his draft stock after that performance.
