These contests are intended to be fun as you’re watching the game. It’s incredibly difficult to get a real edge as there are so few options, and in MME contests, there are often many duplicate lineups. One play or one penalty can change the entire outcome of the game.
Game Strategy
- Over/Under: 47.5
- Spread: Seahawks -1.5
- Seahawks Implied Team Total: 24.5
- Giants Implied Team Total: 23
The Seahawks are 1.5-point favorites despite playing on the road. This shows Vegas clearly believes Seattle is the better team. I agree. Captain considerations start with the Seahawks' offense in this one.
Injury Roundup
- Saquon Barkley Doubtful
- Giants LT Andrew Thomas OUT
- Noah Fant and Will Dissly both Questionable
Captain Consideration:
Seattle Seahawks
Quarterback
Geno Smith - Captain/Flex
Geno Smith leads a Seahawks offense that ranks fourth in EPA (Expected Points Added) per Play and sixth in Dropback EPA and has a phenomenal matchup on tap against a bad Giants defense that ranks 31st in EPA/Play Allowed, 30th in Dropback EPA Allowed, and 24th in Success Rate.
Running Back/Wide Receiver/Tight End/Defense/Kicker Choices
DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett - Captains/Flexes
DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett are the clear-cut top wide receivers for Geno Smith in a favorable matchup. Lockett has seen 21 targets and Metcalf has seen 19 targets. Lockett leads the team with two touchdown catches and Metcalf leads the team with 234 receiving yards. Both are in play and can be stacked in the same lineup as well.
Ken Walker III - Captain/Flex
Zach Charbonnet's playing time is on the rise, which is something to monitor throughout the rest of the season. But it doesn't project to be a massive issue for Ken Walker in this specific game. Walker ranks 15th in the NFL in opportunities per game (19) and has a great matchup against a bad Giants defense that ranks 31st in EPA/Play Allowed, 25th in Rush EPA Allowed, and 24th in Success Rate. And Walker has momentum as he's coming off of his best game of the season in Week 3 where he turned 21 touches into 156 total yards and 2 touchdowns.
Colby Parkinson - Flex
A fun tournament dart throw is a sure to be low-owned Colby Parkinson. Seattle loves to run 12 personnel and Parkinson has actually played on more snaps so far this year than Noah Fant. And Parkinson ran 20 routes last week, one more than Fant. Plus, both Fant and Will Dissly are listed as questionable.
New York Giants
Quarterback
Daniel Jones - Captain/Flex
Daniel Jones has been miserable to begin the season but as Justin Fields showed on Sunday, anything is possible with a favorable matchup. Jones gets to play at home against a poor Seahawks defense that ranks 26th in EPA/Play Allowed, 29th in Dropback EPA Allowed, and 21st in Success Rate.
Running Back/Wide Receiver/Tight End/Defense/Kicker Choices
Darren Waller - Flex
If the Giants' passing game is able to get on track, that likely means Darren Waller will get on track as well. Waller leads the Giants in targets (20), catches (12), and receiving yards (132). And the matchup is favorable.
Darius Slayton - Flex
Darius Slayton leads all Giants' receivers in snaps played (145) and led all in routes run (30) last week. His playing time appears to be locked in no matter how much the playing time of Jalin Hyatt and Wan'Dale Robinson rises. Slayton is a deep threat and could break this Showdown slate with one long catch.
Jalin Hyatt - Captain Only
Jalin Hyatt is a very fun tournament play. He has blazing speed and put it on display at the combine, running a 4.4 40-yard dash. Hyatt has the height (6-foot-0) to go with his wheels and put five touchdowns on tape in one game against Alabama of all teams last season. That performance was part of his junior campaign that finished with 67 receptions for 1,267 yards and 15 touchdowns with a yards-per-catch average of 18.9. Hyatt is sure to be low-owned because he only ran 13 routes last week but it's only a matter of time before his playing time increases. All it takes for Hyatt is just one long touchdown and he can win you a slate at his captain price.
Matt Breida - Flex
Saquon Barkley is doubtful. In Week 3, both Matt Breida and Gary Brightwell each saw seven total opportunities. But it was Breida who played way more as he played on 82% of the offensive snaps. Breida is the much stronger bet to have a solid game if any Giants' running back is going to.
