IDL and Edge Streaming Matchups, Week 13

Joseph Haggan's IDL and Edge Streaming Matchups, Week 13 Joseph Haggan Published 11/29/2023

We had two huge hits from our streaming article in Week 12. Both Anfernee Jennings and Kobie Turner had huge games. Jennings finished with four tackles and one-and-a-half sacks. Turner dropped four tackles and two sacks of his own. The other calls were off, though Dante Stills was not a complete miss with four tackles, he just did not come away with the splash play. Moving onto Week 13, there are some great matchups to take advantage of. Here are the top IDL and Edge streaming matchups for Week 13.

IDL and Edge Streaming Options

Edge, Emmanuel Ogbah, Miami Dolphins

Matchup: Washington Commanders - Ranked 30th in Matt Bitonti's Offensive Line Rankings

Ogbah was a great asset on the defensive line of the Dolphins for his first two seasons with the team in 2020 and 2021. He provided over 40 total tackles and nine sacks in both seasons. In 2022, Ogbah had an injury-riddled season, only playing 10 games, with a limited role at best. Ogbah seemed to have taken a back seat again this season, though there is now a window of opportunity.

Stud edge rusher Jaelan Phillips just went down late in Week 12 with an Achilles injury. Ogbah came on in relief, and though only played 14 snaps, he produced two tackles and one-and-a-half sacks. His role is likely to increase moving forward, and he has a terrific matchup for Week 13 against the Commanders, who have given up 55 sacks on the season, bad enough for second most in the NFL. Fire Ogbah up with confidence.

Edge, Arnold Ebiketie, Atlanta Falcons

Matchup: New York Jets - Ranked 29th in Matt Bitonti's Offensive Line Rankings

There was worry that Ebiketie would end up being another miss at the edge position for the Falcons, having only produced two-and-a-half sacks over his first 22 games between his rookie season and the start of 2023. However, the 2022 2nd-round pick seems to have finally hit his stride. He has four-and-a-half sacks over his last six games and has boosted his pass-rush grade from 54.1 as a rookie to 76.0 this season, per PFF.

He gets another great matchup for Week 13 against the Jets. The Jets have given up the third most sacks in the league with 47, and Ebiketie is one of the hotter pass rushers in the league right now. Ebiketie should be able to continue to produce at a high level against a lackluster Jets offensive line.

IDL, Calijah Kancey, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Matchup: Carolina Panthers - Ranked 24th in Matt Bitonti's Offensive Line Rankings

The rookie 1st rounder is coming into his own and has shown off some of his explosiveness. Over Kancey's last four games, he has racked up nine tackles, two sacks, and a pass defended. He now has three sacks on the season and has formed a polarizing interior duo with running mate Vita Vea. The athleticism between the two is absolutely off the charts and can be a lot for opposing offensive lines to handle.

The Panthers offensive line, on the other hand, strikes little to no fear into their opposition. They have allowed the fourth most sacks in the league with 43. Kancey and Vea should be wreaking havoc on the Panthers interior offensive line all game.

IDL, Arik Armstead, San Francisco 49ers

Matchup: Philadelphia Eagles - Ranked 1st in Matt Bitonti's Offensive Line Rankings

Yes, I know, the matchup looks terrible on paper. Give me a chance to explain, though. The Eagles offensive line is one of the best, if not the best, in the NFL. Still, their game plan and Jalen Hurts mobility and scrambling leave them susceptible to giving up sacks. They have given up the 12th most sacks in the NFL with 29. Armstead has been absolutely on fire for the 49ers recently.

He has four-and-a-half sacks over his past four games while also adding 15 tackles over that span. This is a potential NFC Championship preview and is a huge regular-season game. Armstead is the veteran presence for the 49ers and will look to stay hot and make a huge impact in Week 13.

IDL and Edge Sleeper Options

Edge, Tuli Tuipulotu, Los Angeles Chargers

Matchup: New England Patriots - Ranked 12th in Matt Bitonti's Offensive Line Rankings

Tuipulotu has put together a strong rookie campaign with 34 total tackles and four sacks. He has a terrifying pass-rush rotation with Joey Bosa, Khalil Mack, and himself. Tuipulotu is now going to be thrust into a heavy workload. Bosa went down in Week 12 and will be out for the 2023 season. This leaves Tuipulotu and Mack as the primary pass rushers on the team.

They square off against a Patriots team that is just absolutely lost. They have zero offensive weapons in the receiving game, a stagnant running game, and are still up in the air about who will be their starting quarterback between Bailey Zappe and Mac Jones. Whoever is under center will be forced into plenty of passing situations. I suspect the Patriots will be playing behind for most of the night, making the pass-rushing situations plentiful.

IDL, Solomon Thomas, New York Jets

Matchup: Atlanta Falcons - Ranked 8th in Matt Bitonti's Offensive Line Rankings

Thomas has been written off as a bust. The former 3rd overall pick has never lived up to his draft capital after six-and-a-half years in the NFL. What he has been able to do is become a solid rotational player and has actually been quite hot recently. Over his last four games, Thomas has accumulated 10 tackles and two sacks. He has a 69.83 pass-rush grade over that span and a 62.2 pass rush grade on the season, the best of his career to date.

The Falcons have given up the 11th most sacks on the season with 30. With Desmond Ridder under center, the team seems more susceptible to allowing sacks due to his scrambling. Thomas has quietly been hot and could produce some nice interior pass rush for the Jets in Week 13.

Final Thoughts

The fantasy football playoffs are rapidly approaching, so hitting some of these weekly streamers is key to coming away with wins during bye weeks. The players listed in this article are likely either on your bench or taxi squad or can be acquired via waivers. Don't start these players over your studs. Always start your studs, but if you need bye-week fillers, these players are definitely worth a look. Thanks for reading, and good luck in Week 13.
