Jaylen Waddle (WR-MIA), DeVonta Smith (WR-PHI) - These players are sleeping giants who could easily correct their underperformance with one week-winning performance that catches up with their season-to-date stats to justify lofty expectations. The Eagles have also been underperforming in the red zone, which means their offense can be even more productive than it has already been. Waddle came into the season banged up and suffered a concussion, so he's just now building some momentum. Defenses are going to sell out to take away Tyreek Hill sooner or later. There's no reason to expect their disappointing fantasy starts to continue.
Aaron Jones (RB-GB) - Jones sitting with a hamstring injury one week after he returned from the same injury on a Thursday night feels ominous, but the Packers' medical staff is conservative and the team was going into their bye. As long as he can get healthy and this isn't a sign of re-injury/aggravation, Jones should resume being one of the few backs who is a focal point of his offense and can strike for big plays as a runner and receiver. If the dynasty team he is on is struggling, he could be available for rebuild prices since he is also on his bye.
Lamar Jackson (QB-BAL) - Drops and some timely plays from the Steelers defense concealed that the Ravens pass offense is starting to spread its wings, and Jackson has four healthy NFL caliber receivers and a healthy #1 tight end for the first time this year. The Titans secondary is suspect, and Jackson could have his first big game as a passer and runner in the same contest on Sunday morning. Jackson is currently QB7 and slightly ahead of Patrick Mahomes II, even though he has only thrown for four scores and is averaging only a little over 200 passing yards a game.
Rashee Rice (WR-KC) - We have watched the Chiefs wide receivers flop around like a fish out of water in the box score long enough now that everyone is giving up on Rice in redraft, and he might still be available in dynasty leagues for close to what he cost in drafts. He has been drawing targets and red zone looks at a higher rate than any other receiver on the roster, and we know now that Skyy Moore and Kadarius Toney probably aren't going to hit anywhere near their ceiling scenarios, so Rice has a lot higher short and long term ceiling than we thought he did going into the season. The Broncos defense is the perfect backdrop for his breakout game.
Jahan Dotson (WR-WAS) - Dotson's talent is still apparent, and he is set up with a pass-happy offense that will have to dig out of holes created by a suspect defense. He has been the odd man out more often than not with two other viable receivers and a resurgent Logan Thomas, but any week now, Dotson is going to remind everyone why we saw him as an ascendent player coming into the season. With Terry McLaurin likely blanketed by A.J. Terrell, this could be a big week for Dotson.
Dameon Pierce (RB-HOU) - This is just another reminder to work on getting Pierce while his value is low. C.J. Stroud is, by all accounts, for real, the offensive line is finally getting healthy, and the Texans will face mostly weak pass defenses for the next six weeks after the bye, which should set up Pierce for high-volume and scoring opportunities. He is part of a good offense and is now dominating backfield touches. The big fantasy games will come.
