Welcome to Week 10 of the 2022 Footballguys Roundtable. Our intrepid panel of fantasy pundits discusses and debates four topics every week. Topics are now split into separate features.

Play of the Year Candidates

Matt Waldman: Describe the best play you've seen all year as an NFL or college fan. If you can find it on YouTube, IG, TikTok, or Twitter, link to it so we can see it.

Maurile Tremblay: The Justin Jefferson catch and the Cole Kmet catch from this season both rival the famous Odell Beckham catch from 2014, in my view, for their unbridled awesomeness. They're all crazy one-handed catches at ridiculous angles while a defender makes contact. Beckham's was deepest downfield and was at the furthest extreme of the receiver's catch radius. Jefferson's was also pretty far downfield and involved the strongest direct challenge for the ball from the defender. Meanwhile, the hit Kmet took while making his catch pushed his body away from the ball in mid-air, but he was able to maintain control of the ball like a contact juggler using balance rather than grip strength to reel it in. I can't pick a favorite; I love all three of those catches equally.

Jeff Bell: I will leave it up to my colleagues to include the play that featured Cam Lewis displaying one of the worst cases of situational awareness we could see on a field.

I am tapping into the college side, and everyone will recognize the name Marvin Harrison Jr. He has amassed a career's worth of highlight catches in just one entire season of playtime, but the catch against Indiana:

Field awareness and body control in one play.

Harrison Jr. is quickly climbing the Ohio St. record books with top ten seasons for both yards and touchdowns and is on track to become one of the most hyped NFL wide receiver prospects in draft history.

Craig Lakins: Terry McLaurin's game-saving catch in Week 8 against the Colts barely edges out Justin Jefferson's Week 10 heroics for me. In a homecoming game for McLaurin, he made a grown man play to set his team up for the win. With less than a minute left, the Commanders were down by six.
