IDL and Edge Streaming Matchups, Week 15

Joseph Haggan's IDL and Edge Streaming Matchups, Week 15 Joseph Haggan Published 12/14/2022

For Week 14, the last week of the fantasy regular season, we killed our streaming matchups. At the edge position, we chose to go young and stream Azeez Ojulari and George Karlaftis for the week. Ojulari was a beast for the second week in a row, with four tackles, two for a loss, two sacks, and three pressures. Karlaftis came away with three tackles, one for a loss, a sack, and four pressures. The Edge sleeper was Alex Wright, and though he did not produce, I was correct about him getting his mitts up at the line to get a pass defended.

At IDL, we went with Bilal Nichols and J.J. Watt as our streaming options. Nichols kept his hot streak going, coming away with a sack on the week. Watt had a pedestrian day, only coming away with a single tackle for a loss. D.J. Reader was the sleeper call due to his high tackle floor and tasty matchup. Reader's impressive run defense was on display, producing five solo tackles and coming up with a pass defended. Here are your top IDL and Edge streaming options for Week 15.

Week 15 IDL and Edge Streaming Options

Edge Baron Browning, Denver Broncos

Matchup: Arizona Cardinals - Ranked 32nd in Matt Bitonti's Rankings

Baron Browning has been a godsend for the Broncos since Randy Gregory has gone to IR. The converter inside linebacker, though miscast at that position, has thrived in a pass rusher role. The past two weeks, he has been very difficult to block, producing three tackles, one for a loss, a sack, and eight pressures. Browning flashes with incredible snap-timing and explosion as you see in this clip.

Browning squares off against the Cardinals, who have been one of the worst offensive lines of late. Plus, they lost mobility behind the line with Kyler Murray going down. The Cardinals have allowed the seventh most sacks on the season with 37. Browning should be able to thrive.

Edge Chandler Jones, Las Vegas Raiders

Matchup: New England Patriots - Ranked 12th in Matt Bitonti's Rankings

Yes, the return of Chandler Jones has happened. I'm not sure if it's age or what, but the rust has finally fallen off the aging wheels of Jones. And yes, I know Jones was terrible for the first 11 games of the season, but hear me out. Over the past three weeks, Jones has nine tackles, two for a loss, four sacks, and an eye-popping 23 pressures. Jones really opened up his repertoire last week.

Maxx Crosby is just unblockable across from Jones, leading to plenty of one-on-one matchups for Jones. The duo finally seems to be thriving together. The Raiders challenge the Patriots, Jones's former team in Week 15. Mac Jones has gotten beat up recently, and the offensive line is going to have their hands full with Jones and Crosby.

IDL Morgan Fox, Los Angeles Chargers

Matchup: Tennessee Titans - Ranked 26th in Matt Bitonti's Rankings

Morgan Fox has been a surprise for the Chargers. They hoped that Jerry Tillery would provide a solid interior defense to match his elite athleticism, but that never panned out. Fox has stepped in admirably in the past four games. During that span, he has 14 tackles, two for a loss, a sack, and 13 pressures. Here Fox shows a nice interior swim move to get to the quarterback.

He has played 64.67% of the team's snaps over the past six games. The Chargers challenge the Titans in Week 15. They have allowed the ninth-most sacks in the NFL with 35 and offer Fox a high tackle floor deploying Derrick Henry's smash-mouth style of running.

IDL Calais Campbell, Baltimore Ravens

Matchup: Cleveland Browns - Ranked 3rd in Matt Bitonti's Rankings

Age is just a number to Calais Campbell. He just keeps producing. Through 12 games, he has 30 pressures, 33 tackles, and five and a half sacks. He boasts a 67.8 run defense grade per PFF and a 73.1 pass-rush grade. Campbell's length has always been an issue for opposing linemen. Watch how easily he shed blocks.

At age 36, Campbell is still playing 65.33% of the team's snaps. They will need his length to contain the run game of the Browns. His pass-rushing presence just gives him a higher ceiling.

Week 15 IDL and Edge Sleeper Options

Edge Preston Smith, Green Bay Packers

Matchup: Los Angeles Rams - Ranked 28th in Matt Bitonti's Rankings

Smith plays a ton of snaps. He has been on the field for 81.15% of the Packers' defensive snaps. His last three games have been quite impressive. He has posted 16 tackles, two for a loss, two sacks, and five pressures during that span.

The Packers square off against Baker Mayfield and the Rams. The Rams offensive line has allowed a league-most 46 sacks, tied with the Giants. The Rams need to add balance to their offense and may do so with the slight re-emergence of Cam Akers. Smith has been great setting the edge, which could raise his tackle floor while having tremendous pass-rushing upside against one of the league's worst offensive lines.

IDL Ndamukong Suh, Philadelphia Eagles

Matchup: Chicago Bears - Ranked 30th in Matt Bitonti's Rankings

Suh signed with the Eagles in hopes of another Super Bowl ring. He is not the Suh of old, but he can still be disruptive. He has three tackles in two of the four games he has played, adding a sack in one of those games. Suh also has four pressures in those four games, upping his snap share to 45% over the past two.

Suh and the Eagles play the Bears in Week 15. The Bears have allowed the 5th most sacks in the NFL with 42. The Eagles will need Suh to clog up running lanes and collapse the pocket with pressure coming off the edge in hopes of containing Justin Fields.

Final thoughts

If you made it here, congratulations, you made the playoffs. Our work is not done, though. We need to continue to crank out the best possible lineups that we can. Hopefully, this article helps aid you in that process. Good luck in all of your matchups, and thank you again for reading.
