IDL and Edge Streaming Matchups, Week 10

Joseph Haggan's IDL and Edge Streaming Matchups, Week 10 Joseph Haggan Published 11/09/2022

The IDL and Edge streaming articles have been a bit bleak recently on hits. This is mainly due to how deep the selections have been. Most of the players chosen so far have likely been on the waiver wire. To finish the season strong, it is time to chose which players on your roster to start each week. Moving forward, most of these players will be rostered, though likely sitting on your bench. This article series will tell you when it is the best matchup for these players to have a potential blow up game. Here are the top IDL and Edge streaming targets for Week 10.

Week 10 IDL and Edge Streaming Options

Edge Josh Paschal, Detroit Lions

Matchup: Chicago Bears - Ranked 30th in Matt Bitonti's Rankings

Josh Paschal was part of this article series just last week. His three total tackles may look like the call was a miss, though the final stats were a tad misleading. Though he did not come away with any sacks, Paschal did create five pressures. Needless to say, the day could have been huge for him. Paschal had his best pass-rush grade of the season so far, with 63.8 per PFF. He has tremendous athleticism for almost 280 lbs. Watch here as he beats the chop block and makes the tackle.

Charles Harris made his return from injury in Week 9, though Paschal remained on the field for the majority of the team's snaps. Paschal has played on 87% of the team's defensive snaps over the three games he has played. The Lions matchup against the Bears this week. The Bears have allowed the 2nd most sacks so far in 2022 with 33. They also changed their offensive philosophy and have been running the ball with Justin Fields more. The Lions will be looking for their two rookie pass-rushers to set and control strong edges.

Edge Markus Golden, Arizona Cardinals

Matchups: Los Angeles Rams - Ranked 29th in Matt Bitonti's Rankings

The start of Markus Golden's season was not strong, to say the least. He has turned up the heat over his past four contests. During that span, he has 20 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and 16 pressures. Golden is coming off of possibly his best game of the season. He dropped a six tackle, half of a sack, and seven pressure stat line against the surprising division-leading Seahawks. Watch how he made a strong push on the right tackle to collapse the pocket last week.

Golden squares off with the Rams during Week 10. The Rams offensive line has looked like a high school line since Andrew Whitworth retired after last season. They have allowed the 5th most sacks in the NFL with 28 and have not allowed this offense to get rolling at all. Golden and company should have a field day getting after Matthew Stafford.

IDL David Onyemata, New Orleans Saints

Matchup: Pittsburgh Steelers - Ranked 23rd in Matt Bitonti's Rankings

Onyemata has been surging a bit recently from the interior. Over the past four weeks, he has created 9 total pressures and carries a healthy 66.8 pass-rush grade so far in 2022. He leads all Saints interior defenders in snap percentage at 59.8%. Onyemata has also come away with a sack in consecutive weeks in Weeks 8 and 9. The Saints battle the Steelers in their Week 10 matchup. A team who was once the most feared offensive line group has looked abysmal in both run and pass blocking in 2023. The Steelers have given up eight sacks during their past two contests, including six before their bye week. The Saints pass rush should be able to rough up rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett.

IDL Matt Ioannidis, Carolina Panthers

Matchup: Atlanta Falcons - Ranked 13th in Matt Bitonti's Rankings

Matt Ioannidis makes his triumphant return to the streaming series. He has not been racking up sacks this season, though he has been applying pressure. Over his past five games, Ioannidis has created 19 pressures. During that same span, Ioannidis earned a 69.4 pass-rush grade from the interior per PFF. He has very quick hands and terrific pass-rushing moves as you can see here from a beautiful swim move earlier in the season

Ioannidis has also shown to be a strong tackler this season. He has four games with four tackles showing a strong tackle floor. The Panthers matchup against the Falcons during Week 10. The Falcons have run the 2nd most rushing plays this season with 303 attempts, good enough for 33.67 rushing attempts per game. This bodes well for Ioannidis's tackle floor. The Falcons have also allowed 21 sacks, tied for 11th most in the NFL. All signs point to Ioannidis having a strong game.

Week 10 IDL and Edge Sleeper Options

Edge Clelin Ferrell, Las Vegas Raiders

Matchup: Indianapolis Colts - Ranked 8th in Matt Bitonti's Rankings

I cannot believe I have the former 1st round pick as a potential starter, but this is where we are at in 2022. Ferrell has actually looked better than his teammate Chandler Jones over the past three games. He has played on 55% of the Raiders' defensive snaps during that span, creating seven pressures. Those seven pressures are two more than Jones has been able to provide. Ferrell has six tackles and three quarterback hits in those three games as well. Ferrell has lined up dome on the interior, joining Maxx Crosby and Chandler Jones on the field at the same time. Here he uses a nice stunt to almost come away with a sack in Week 9.

Ferrell has a 76.1 tackle grade and 62.8 run defense grade per PFF, both higher marks than Jones. Ferrell's ability against the run will be needed against the Colts' predominant run game. the Colts have also allowed the most sacks in the NFL this season with 35. Ferrell could be a sneaky strong play this week.

IDL Zach Sieler, Miami Dolphins

Matchup: Cleveland Browns - Ranked 11th in Matt Bitonti's Rankings

Zach Sieler comes in as an interior sleeper, though he probably shouldn't be a sleeper. Sieler provides a strong tackle floor with 30 on the season so far, 20 coming in the past five games. He is 2nd on the team in interior snaps played with 413 (71.1%), trailing only Christian Wilkins. Though not known for his pass-rushing, Sieler has also provided five pressures over his past three games. Sieler is very nimble for a big man. Watch him make this Bears offensive lineman look silly, dropping on his face with strength and quick footwork.

The Dolphins take on the Browns in Week 10. The Browns run the fourth most rushing plays per game in the NFL at 33.25 attempts. Sieler's tackle floor makes him a strong play for Week 10.

Final Thoughts

With the fantasy playoffs approaching, it is time to make sure you are putting out your most optimal lineups each week. It is time to make the playoff push and win some championships. This series will be dedicated to making those difficult start/streaming decisions for you on a weekly basis. Good luck in Week 10, and thank you for reading.
