Baltimore, Team Mood

  • Good - 2
  • Neutral - 9
  • Bad - 0

Staffers in a Good Mood

  • Kevin Coleman: Lamar Jackson will put himself in the discussion for QB1 overall this season, and the return of J.K. Dobbins can elevate this offense to new heights.
  • Christian Williams: With J.K. Dobbins back to full health at some point soon, the offense should return to the successful run rates before 2021.

Staffers in a Neutral Mood

  • Jason Wood: Last year was an outlier, but the team should go back to what worked in 2019 and 2020. But is that enough to win a Super Bowl?
  • Sam Wagman: Lamar Jackson isn’t signed beyond the season, J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards are still working their way back, and Rashod Bateman is the only worthwhile wide receiver.
  • Andy Hicks: How Lamar Jackson plays is how this team fares in 2022.
  • Justin Howe: We'll likely wind up throwing out most of their weird 2021, but it's hard to see much real improvement here.
  • Jeff Bell: Injuries to the primary running backs create questions about production.
  • Ben Cummins: Lamar Jackson is a former MVP yet struggled some as a passer last year. He's a great dual-threat, but the offense as a whole hinges on his passing ability.
  • Jordan McNamara: They have an answer at quarterback in Lamar Jackson they need to lock down to a contract. This is a good front office and good coaching staff.
  • Ryan Weisse: This is a largely unproven group outside of Lamar Jackson and Mark Andrews.
  • Chad Parsons: Lamar Jackson is one of the preeminent playmakers in the NFL, but fueling a bevy of producers around him has not been his calling card.

Staffers in a Bad Mood

  • None.

Reasons to be In on Rashod Bateman

  • Sam Wagman: Bateman is the move here. He’s being drafted as a back-end WR2, yet Marquise Brown was putting up solid WR2 numbers last season.
  • Justin Howe: Unless/until the Ravens put pen to paper with a stud veteran, Bateman is still coming too cheaply.
  • Ben Cummins: Bateman is an elite talent that now steps into the lead WR role with Marquise Brown gone.
  • Ryan Weisse: Bateman is Baltimore's top wide receiver and has very little competition for that spot. He's worth the gamble in the 6th Round.

Reasons to be In on Mark Andrews

  • Jason Wood: He's the clear-cut No. 2 tight end (behind Kelce) and warrants an early-round pick.
  • Jordan McNamara: Mark Andrews is the best combination of age and upside over the next two- to three-year window at the tight end position.
  • Chad Parsons: Rashod Bateman might take a big step forward, but Mark Andrews is the lead receiver.

Reasons to be In on J.K. Dobbins

  • Andy Hicks: On the form shown in his rookie season and the presence of Lamar Jackson, Dobbins will be a highly productive lead back.
  • Kevin Coleman: Dobbins looks ready to play after his knee injury from last preseason, and if he’s good to go, there is no running back with more top-12 upside than him.

Reasons to be In on Lamar Jackson

  • Christian Williams: His ADP sits near his floor, and his upside is still finishing as the No. 1 overall quarterback.

Reasons to be In on Tyler Badie

  • Jeff Bell: A free end-of-draft play on the questions surrounding backfield health.

Players We're Out On at Cost

Reasons to be Out on Gus Edwards

  • Jason Wood: He's just a guy and isn't necessarily healthier than J.K. Dobbins entering camp.
  • Kevin Coleman: The Ravens added rookie Tyler Badie and veteran Mike Davis this offseason. Both could push or overtake Edwards for RB2 on the depth chart.
  • Clayton Gray: There are so many backs in Baltimore, and Edwards appears to be the least healthy of them.

Reasons to be Out on WRs Except for Bateman

  • Sam Wagman: Outside of Bateman, I don’t want any of the wide receivers on this team.
  • Andy Hicks: None of the other wide receivers outside Rashod Bateman have an ADP outside lottery ticket value, but even then, it seems a wasted pick.

Reasons to be Out on Mark Andrews

  • Justin Howe: Last year was truly fantastic, but if the Ravens trim off 15% of their air production, how will you feel about spending a second on him?
  • Ryan Weisse: With his ADP creeping up, you have to choose between Andrews or Kelce if you go tight end early. It's Kelce every time for me.

Reasons to be Out on No One

  • Jeff Bell: ADP is very favorable, given the ceiling in this offense.
  • Christian Williams: Everyone seems to be adequately valued.

Reasons to be Out on J.K. Dobbins

  • Ben Cummins: I’m not all out, but his significant knee injury is a pause for concern. I’m hedging, avoiding him in full PPR and grabbing him at a value in half PPR.
  • Chad Parsons: Coming off of injury plus, even if healthy, this offense has not optimized the position for upside with strong targets or goal-line volume.

Reasons to be Out on Rashod Bateman

  • Jordan McNamara: Bateman was targeted on a very low percentage of the routes he ran last year and was unproductive when targeted. Asking for a major leap is dubious.
