Wednesday Media Updates

***Josh Jacobs started the year limited with a toe injury, then came off the field limping at times on Monday night. He's also listed with an ankle injury. Jacobs usually plays through injury but his status should be monitored closely this week.

***Odell Beckham was ruled out by the Browns on Wednesday. It's still unclear why Beckham, who was cleared for football activity since May but has yet to take contact, isn't ready to return. Consider him week-to-week until we learn more details.

***The Eagles listed a number of players with a dual injury and resting veteran designation on Wednesday's practice report. Miles Sanders was included with an ankle injury. There's no reported concern in the local media and Sanders should return to full practices and a full workload this week.

***Marquise Brown did not practice Wednesday. The Ravens did not report an injury after the game. Watch his practice participation carefully.

***Joe Burrow experienced some knee soreness after the game but said he feels better than he did during training camp. He will play this week.

THURSDAY NIGHT INJURY EXPECTATIONS

Here are the key offensive players listed on the practice participation or game status report for Thursday Night Football:

New York Giants at Washington

***Saquon Barkley is listed questionable but is expected to play. He's likely to see more than the 50% snap rate and 10 touches but don't expect 18+ touches on a short week. If Thursday night goes smoothly, Barkley should return to a pre-injury workload in Week 3. Evan Engram remains out with a calf strain.

***Antonio Gibson returned to full practices Tuesday and Wednesday after a shoulder sprain last week. He is not listed on the game status report and should see his usual workload.

Early week practice participation and playing expectations

The Wednesday and Thursday practice participation reports are our first chance to see which players each NFL team is limiting in practice after the previous week's games. Players limited in mid-week practice aren't necessarily in danger of missing that week's game. But they all need to be watched closely.
