WEEK 6 Plays
Jonathan Taylor Under 82.5 Rushing Yards
The Bengals are allowing 131 yards rushing per game which is the reason this one is boosted up to 82.5 yards. The Bengals have faced some of the best opposing running units in football this season which have led to their terrible numbers as they have faced Cleveland, Baltimore, a Chargers team who ran the ball 37 times, and Philadelphia. The biggest problem with Jonathan Taylor continues to be volume as outside of his breakout game against Minnesota, the Colts seem to have Taylor on a limit for the amount of carries he will have in a game. He has averaged just 12.75 carries per game outside of the game against Minnesota, and has been over 50% snap counts just twice all season. Taylor is likely going to need 17-18 carries to get to 82.5 yards at minimum, and at the moment, that seems like a difficult task.
James Conner Under 64.5 Rushing Yards
The Browns run stopping unit continues to be the surprise of the 2020 season as they replaced Joe Schobert and Christian Kirksey and have vaulted from one of the worst run defenses in football to suddenly one of the best. The Browns have not allowed a running back to top 57 yards and have faced elite competition in Jonathan Taylor, Ezekiel Elliott, Joe Mixon, and the Ravens rushing offense. This is a unit that has played solidly and have been one of the better defensive lines in football with Myles Garrett, Larry Ogunjobi, and Sheldon Richardson. This is a unit that is facing a Pittsburgh offensive line that will be without David DeCastro which should only help the Browns this week.
Cam Newton Under 50.5 Rushing Yards
Cam Newton is returning after being unavailable the last two weeks due to Covid-19 and while he is expected to start, the Patriots have not made an official decision as of Saturday morning. 50.5 rushing yards is a lot for Newton who was able to top this in Week 1 in a shootout game against Seattle, but in his last full season which was 2018, he was able to do this only three times. This prop is largely inflated due to Sam Darnold rushing for 84 yards against the Denver defense in Week 4, but expect Cam to be eased back in and this one should be an easy under.
Trey Burton Over 26.5 Receiving Yards
With Mo Allie-Cox out for this game, a larger emphasis should be placed on Burton who has seen 11 targets over the last two games. Burton who was injured to start the year should be able to quickly adjust and adapt to Philip Rivers and if he is getting 5-6 targets per game, has the athleticism to easily surpass 26.5 yards. Footballguys consensus projections currently have him at 31 yards, but he has the opportunity to be much more involved particularly with the struggles of T.Y. Hilton.
Ben Roethlisberger Over 274.5 Passing Yards
The Browns scoring offense currently has the third-highest points per game as they are scoring 32 points per contest this season. While the Pittsburgh defense should be a test for the Browns this week, expect this game to continue to be a back and forth game like most of the Browns contests have been this season. As we touched on with James Conner, it looks like the way to beat the Browns is through the air especially now that the Browns have placed Greedy Williams on Injured Reserve and Denzel Ward has not been playing at nearly the level he has played at in past seasons as he has been dealing with multiple injuries. Expect the Browns to shut down the rushing attack and this to be a back and forth game through the air.
Added Sunday Morning
Matt Ryan Over 289.5 Passing Yards
While Minnesota's defense looked better last week holding Russell Wilson to 217 passing yards, they're still largely lacking an identity with this rebuilt secondary. The matchup against Seattle was a good one for the Vikings secondary due to the strength being at the safety position and with Seattle excelling at the long pass. Matt Ryan and the Falcons should be able to do what Deshaun Watson, Aaron Rodgers and Ryan Tannehill all did and that's throw for over 300 yards in this one.
Baker Mayfield Over 230.5 Passing Yards
All signs for this one point towards going under. Mayfield has averaged just 195 passing yards per game this season, is dealing with bruised ribs, is facing a tough Pittsburgh defense and Odell Beckham did not practice this week. However, if you look deeper into the Browns games they've largely held a lead heading into the second half in each of their last four games and tried to go conservative in the second half. This likely won't be an option in what should be a close game that Cleveland is an underdog in. Expect Mayfield and the Browns to have to keep throwing the ball for most of this game and should have his best statistical game of the season.
