Tyrone Tracy Jr.

Many are expecting Tyrone Tracy to cede way for fourth round rookie Cam Skattebo, but Tracy deserves better consideration that that. Considering the mess that was the Giants last year and the fact he barely played in the first four games, his 839 rushing yards and five touchdowns points to a good starter. 

The Giants offense is starved for playmakers outside of Malik Nabers and can’t afford to take Tracy’s explosiveness off the field in favor of Cam Skattebo’s grit.

Tyrone Tracy was a pleasant surprise as an inside runner, but Skattebo has the complete package of quickness, sudden change of direction, and contact balance. His only true weakness is pass protection. 

As long as Skattebo picks up the Giants' offense in camp, expect the rookie to earn the best end of a split with Tracy. This is a bigger if than it may appear, because Skattebo has flaws as a pass blocker.

I'm betting on Skattebo as the touch leader by season's end and Tracy's role taking a bigger back seat, but it's a gamble at this point.

Fantastic athlete and has decent size at 209 pounds. Tracy will share the backfield with Cam Skattebo. Tracy has more big-play ability.

Despite the investment in Cam Skattebo, Tracy should build off of his strong rookie season heading into Year 2.
