Scouting Report

Trinidad Chambliss has a February 12 court date to gain another year of NCAA eligibility. Regardless of that result, he could be the main character for an underdog sports movie before all is said and done. Originally a zero-star recruit, Chambliss committed to Ferris State, where he worked his way up the depth chart. His first real run as a starter came in 2024, when he finished as a finalist for the Harlon Hill Trophy, which is similar to the Heisman but for DII. He entered the transfer portal, was assigned a three-star rating, and transferred to Ole Miss ahead of the 2025 season. The Rebels held a true quarterback competition, and Chambliss wasn't even a thought to win the job by most Ole Miss team sites. He won the backup job, but when the Ole Miss starter went down against Arkansas, Chambliss took the reins and never gave them back.

Chambliss is a shifty, creative quarterback who overcomes his lack of size and arm strength with underrated athletic tools. He struggles to see the middle of the field, and doesn't manipulate defenders much with his eyes while he stares down his initial read. Part of that is the structure of the Ole Miss offense, which doesn't ask him to work through progressions. Instead, it's more of a one-or-two-reads-then-run system. He's slippery in the pocket and brings a playmaker's mentality to the open field when he gets there. His size will be a detractor for a lot of front offices, but Chambliss has overcome plenty of doubters to reach this stage.

Rundown

Trinidad Chambliss is an older prospect who has made the most of his college football experience and can bring highlight plays and excitement to a team, even if his height limits his role in a conventional NFL offense.
