Linebackers
Jake Ryan (GBP): Look, Blake Martinez can't tackle everyone. There will be enough tackles to go around - both for the rest of this season and in seasons beyond - for another Packer linebacker to make regular tackles. I've always thought it should be Ryan. He's been a little unimpressive this season, but there's some opportunity here. After a solid Week 11 showing, it could be his time. Worth watching.
Calvin Munson (NYG): Just another quick endorsement for Munson, who will be on the field a lot to close 2017 and will have a solid shot at a starting role in 2018. If he's still available, he's a pickup in all dynasty formats.
Manti Te'o (NOS): He only has double digits in one game this season (Week 1, and just 10 points), but something tells me that he will be the leader of the Saints defense as they continue to improve. And he's just 26. He looked well on his way to being a yearly, every-week starter in 2015 but was released by the linebacker-rich Chargers. I say he's a stash in larger formats.
Haason Reddick (ARI): He's a guy who's on just about every dynasty roster but wanted to make mention of his decreasing snap counts as the year goes on. There are just so many playmakers both in the secondary and along the front seven, it could be that this guy never really has huge games. Or that they're few and far between, and that he will never get enough regular tackles to merit weekly play. Could be a candidate to sell, if you can find someone to buy at his draft-time value.
James Burgess (CLE): Simple, with Jamie Collins out, Burgess is a great add. Just 23, he could provide long-term "handcuff" value moving forward on a defense that will provide ample tackle and big-play opportunities.
Defensive Linemen
Olsen Pierre (DT - ARI): Just a name to watch as his snap counts have been rising since the start of the season. In leagues that make you start a player at defensive tackle, you should always be on the lookout for guys with even the most subtle of upside.
Davon Godchaux (DT - MIA): If you've got some room on your DTS, here's a nice grab-and-stash as he's just a rookie and has been hovering around 50% of the snaps for the Dolphins line. He'll be afforded some opportunities with the opposing offensive line trying to contain their edge rushers and Ndamukong Suh.
Leger Douzable (DE - SFO): Clearly, with various injuries to the Niners' front seven, this guy has come on strong. Three straight big efforts make this guy a great add. What's scary is he's doing it while still in a bit of a rotation.
Defensive Backs
Tre Boston (S - LAC): This position has always been productive and while there are a couple other worthy safety-designated players for the Bolts, we like Boston's consistency and big-play ability. Just 25, he's a solid stash and could easily be played as a DB2 the rest of 2017 given the Chargers' schedule.
Patrick Chung (S - NEP): Yeah he's 30 but you all know what happens to the Patriots as the season closes up. Their defense heats up, their offense chugs along, and they continue to win. For this to happen, guys like Chung step their games up. If you're in need of a consistent performer at the safety spot, Chung could be your guy for the rest of 2017.
Byron Jones (S - DAL): He's actually been a little unimpressive this year in taking over the "Barry Church" spot, but if you're looking to the future, it doesn't seem like anyone is going to challenge for the spot. Xavier Woods has been OK and is probably worth watching in deeper formats, but Jones should be rostered in all just based on historical production of the position.
E.J. Gaines (CB - BUF): He started the season off well and then was battling injuries for over a month (and out for a few weeks). It look like he's back and is our favorite cornerback add for the week. Great remaining schedule and will see plenty of opportunities.
