Scouting Report

DJ Rogers wasn't a high-volume producer in college but made the most of his opportunities. He was the number seven tight end prospect and a four-star recruit in 2021 and committed to TCU despite several other offers. He redshirted as a freshman, then was primarily on special teams duties for two seasons. Rogers was stuck behind Jared Wiley, but finally was the team's clear starter in 2025. Rogers earned All-Big 12 academic honors two years in a row from 2023 to 2024. He's a participant at the Senior Bowl and has made multiple highlight plays.

Rogers is a coach's dream for a backup tight end. He's strong enough to provide value as a blocker in two-tight-end sets, but fluid enough to provide most of a starter's receiving production working in relief. He lacks straight-line speed, and his feet can get tangled up on his routes. But once the ball is in his hands, he's a menace. He forced a missed tackle on a third of his receptions in 2025, and consistently fought to the chains for first downs. He wasn't frequently targeted in contested situations at TCU, but routinely Mossed players at the Senior Bowl. His extensive special teams experience will make him a good bet to make and stay on a roster.

Rundown

Rogers can do just enough in both the receiving and blocking game to maintain a role in the league over the long term, but is off of fantasy radars for now.
