Dallas is coming off a season where pretty much everything went wrong. What's the vibe for 2025?

Spoiler alert: We are all over the place.

Cowboys, Team Vibes

  • Good - 5 votes
  • Neutral - 4 votes
  • Bad - 4 votes

Staffers with Good Vibes

  • Maurile Tremblay: Dak Prescott is healthy again and the new Lamb-Pickens tandem under Schottenheimer points to a top-10 passing offense.
  • Phil Alexander: A healthy Dak Prescott raises the floor. Pairing George Pickens with CeeDee Lamb lifts the ceiling.
  • Zareh Kantzabedian: Brian Schottenheimer's promotion to head coach leads me to believe Dallas will be pass-heavy this year. Dallas’ starting running backs are underwhelming, which should only encourage more pass attempts for Dak Prescott and targets for his weapons.
  • Craig Lakins: The team with the sixth-highest pass rate in the NFL last season is likely to lean further into the passing game in 2025.
  • Julia Papworth: Dallas added some help on the offensive line, Dak is recovered from his hamstring injury, and the city has welcomed in new head coach Brian Schottenheimer.

Staffers with Neutral Vibes

  • Kyle Bellefeuil: Dak Prescott's return brings optimism, but it’s tough to get too excited about things in Dallas.
  • Jeff Haseley: Expectations aren't exactly high with a rookie head coach in a tough division.
  • David Zacharias: Everything about the 2025 Cowboys screams bland: an ultra-conservative first-time Head Coach, run-focused first-time Offensive Coordinator, and 22nd-easiest strength-of-schedule.
  • Ryan Weisse: The team has CeeDee Lamb and gets Dak Prescott back, but the running back room looks mediocre, and the coaching staff is uninspiring.

Staffers with Bad Vibes

  • Jason Wood: The Cowboys' Super Bowl adds are a longshot 50-to-1, and new head coach Brian Schottenheimer's offenses have averaged a 16th-place finish in 12 seasons as a play-caller.
  • Jeff Blaylock: Championship aspirations aren’t rewarded by a .500 roster and a rookie head coach.
  • Andy Hicks: It seems inconceivable that Dallas hits a home run with Brian Schottenheimer as head coach, Dak Prescott at quarterback and very risky options at running back.
  • Tripp Brebner: The Cowboys act like a win-now team struggling to keep its core intact. They're also-rans, outmaneuvered by the Eagles every spring.
