One of the best and most comprehensive features we offer every year is our Footballguys Preseason Updates. Every week this month, Bob Henry, Jason Wood, Clayton Gray, and their team of Footballguys Staffers cover every player that matters from every NFL team. It's 32-plus pages of some of the most comprehensive coverage you'll find. It's probably worth the Footballguys Premium Subscription by itself.

Updates from Week 4

Preseason Updates: Quarterbacks

Russell Wilson enters as the starter without real competition, but the conversation around the depth chart has been more interesting. Jaxson Dart has impressed throughout the summer and handled enough work with the second team to suggest the Giants see him as the future, though Jameis Winston remains valued as a veteran stabilizer. Tommy DeVito, who started games the last two seasons, became expendable as a result. While DeVito could land on the practice squad, multiple beat writers questioned whether he would accept that role rather than pursue opportunities elsewhere. The setup reflects the front office's decision to balance Wilson's present with Dart's future, with Winston bridging both timelines.

Preseason Updates: Running Backs

This group generated heavy debate across beat projections, particularly after Cam Skattebo's hamstring injury sidelined him for much of camp. His preseason cameo answered the biggest question, showing he's healthy enough to avoid injured reserve. Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Devin Singletary were rested for the finale, an indication their roles are locked. Dante Miller sparked strong support after an electric preseason as both a runner and special-teamer, but a muffed punt left some analysts skeptical he'd stick. Eric Gray remains on the physically unable to perform list, which could buy Miller time if the team carries four. The common ground is that Tracy leads the room, Singletary provides stability, and Skattebo's talent keeps him in the mix quickly despite the missed time.
