Updates from Week 4

Preseason Updates: Quarterbacks

The Ravens had a scare during Wednesday's practice when Lamar Jackson left early after having his foot stepped on. He had X-rays, which confirmed no broken bones, and sat out the rest of the week. John Harbaugh said "absolutely" when asked if Jackson would practice on Monday. The day before that, Adam Schefter speculated the Ravens might be more concerned than they were letting on. "They don't have to have Lamar Jackson out there right now," Schefter said. "They need him out there for the start of the regular season, so I would imagine they'd give that foot a couple of weeks to heal. … They're going to be smart with Lamar Jackson, and they're not going to stick him out there any sooner than he has to be." Jackson responded to the report with a laughing emoji. Cooper Rush started against the Commanders and led the team to touchdowns on both of his drives, completing all five passes for 59 yards. Devin Leary is the QB3 but is unlikely to make the 53-man roster after a shaky preseason.

Preseason Updates: Running Backs

The Ravens' running back depth chart is set, led once again by Derrick Henry. Justice Hill is the primary backup, though Keaton Mitchell will push for touches now that he is fully healthy, more than 18 months removed from his knee injury. All three top backs sat out the last two preseason games. Rasheen Ali got the start in Week 3 and had another strong outing, rushing for 36 yards and a touchdown. Ali has stacked standout performances in each preseason game and has also emerged as a starter on special teams, further solidifying his roster spot.
