Week 14 Results
New Orleans (at NY Giants)- 2 sacks, 1 INT
Drew Lock was bad, but not enough in the ways we value at D/ST
A Look Ahead: WAS @GB LV - The Saints D/ST goes marching out of our lineups and off of our rosters
Philadelphia (vs Carolina) - 1 sack, 1 INT
Bryce Young is for real and would have led a game-winning drive from his own end zone in the waning seconds with no timeouts if Xavier Legette had better ball skills, so this was a dud.
A Look Ahead: PIT @WAS DAL - We’ll come back to the Eagles D/ST for Week 17
Dallas (vs Cincinnati) - 2 sacks, 1 INT
This was a back-and-forth game, so Micah Parsons never got to pin his ears back and come after Joe Burrow in the way we needed for this play to come through.
A Look Ahead: @CAR TB @PHI - The Cowboys D/ST rides off into the sunset.
Miami (vs NY Jets) - 3 sacks
Aaron Rodgers arguably played his best game of the year in this game and the Jets were ahead for most of the game, so it was a dud.
A Look Ahead: @HOU SF @CLE - We may come back to Miami in Week 17
Buffalo (at LA Rams) - Nada. Zilch. Bupkis.
Matthew Stafford and Puka Nacua put on a show in this one.
A Look Ahead: @DET NE NYJ - Maybe bench the Bills D/ST this week, but hold them for Weeks 16-17.
Detroit (vs Green Bay) - 1 sack, 1 fumble recovery
The Lions defense was down to backups at more than half of the spots, and Jordan Love played well.
A Look Ahead: BUF @CHI @SF - The Lions D/ST is droppable but could still be playable in Week 16.
Arizona (vs Seattle) - Nada. Zilch. Bupkis.
We had the wrong side of this one as the Seahawks played a strong game on both sides of the ball on the road.
A Look Ahead: NE @CAR @LAR - We can stick with the Cardinals for this week, then they fly away.
Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda
San Francisco (vs Chicago) - 7 sacks, 1 fumble recovery
It could have been even worse, but the 49ers were so far ahead that the defense let up in the second half. Nick Bosa was also sidelined for this game.
Las Vegas (at Tampa Bay) - 4 sacks, 1 fumble recovery, 2 INT
The Raiders had forced five takeaways all year but got three in this game against Baker Mayfield.
Week 15 Candidates
**Minnesota and Kansas City are assumed to be rostered**
Baltimore (at NY Giants)
A no-brainer here as the Giants are likely to be playing from behind and forced to take risks in the passing game against a defense with a good pass rush.
A Look Ahead: PIT @HOU - Probably a drop, but maybe viable in Week 17
Washington (at New Orleans)
Another no brainer as the Saints offense will be very limited with a backup quarterback in.
A Look Ahead: PHI ATL - If Kirk Cousins is still floundering or Michael Penix Jr. gets his first NFL start, Week 17 is promising.
Houston (vs Miami)
The Dolphins have injuries at offensive tackle, and the Texans have the best defensive end combo in the league.
A Look Ahead: @KC BAL - The Texans D/ST goes back to the waiver wire.
Cincinnati (vs Tennessee)
The Bengals defense had multiple sacks and takeaways against the Cowboys, and Will Levis has been good for a big gaffe or two in most games this season. Cincinnati should also be playing from ahead in this one.
A Look Ahead: CLE DEN - We always consider the D/ST facing Jameis Winston.
Denver (vs Indianapolis)
The Broncos D/ST has been good play most weeks this season. They’ll be at home and could have a strong game, but Anthony Richardson and Jonathan Taylor could control this game on the ground, so they’re not a slam dunk play coming off of the bye.
A Look Ahead: @LAC @CIN - The Broncos D/ST will become wild horses after Week 15.
Arizona (vs New England)
The Cardinals defense has cooled off, but this week, they’ll face a rookie quarterback playing behind a porous offensive line with their season on life support.
A Look Ahead: @CAR @LAR - Nothing to see here
