Hi Folks,

We do a ton of insightful, thoughtful, and serious features here at Footballguys with smart people thinking deeply for you.

This is not one of those features.

This is Random Shots, and it's a few pages of me sharing all the random goofiness from this week. With maybe a music note and sometimes a "soap box" wrap at the end.

Here's to Football.

J

Jim Harbaugh and Justin Herbert are just what I hoped they'd be.

#Footballguy.

Detroit is fun.

Vaki with the Dick Butkus vibes

Thanks to Sigmund Bloom for that one.

Music Note this week is one of my all-time favorite songs from one of my favorite bands.

"I hope your brother's El Camino runs forever" is one of the nicest things ever said.

Non-Football Note. I know Age is undefeated. And Mike Tyson is old. But I'm legit worried about Jake Paul.

If you're old enough to remember Tyson in his prime, you may feel the same. He was unlike any athlete I've ever seen.

NFL Lunch Room

Big Cat does not miss.

Rough way for the Bengals to lose.

I'm just glad that wasn't Buffalo. If that happened to Josh Allen, he'd still be yelling for the flag.

The spin move doesn't always work.

These Liberty helmets are fire.

James Madison said "Hold My Beer".

I doubt this is real, as I can't imagine them doing something this cheesy.

If it is real, I don't like it one bit.

Super Bowl Rings are all I want my quarterback interested in.

My favorite part of Game Day has become watching McAfee and Herbstreit respond to Saban.

This has been a Saban thing for a while.

Grateful.

Lane Kiffin had thoughts on fans rushing the field with 16 seconds left to play.

It's a beautiful game.

Art But Make It Sports for the win.

This man was shot in the chest 10 weeks ago.

If true, this doesn't help the narrative...

Xavier Legette went to Germany.

My guy Jaxson de Ville was outnumbered.

Deebo Samuel Sr. yelling at the kicker and long snapper after a miss.

He might've still been upset from forgetting his pants when he went to work.

That's playing pretty loose with "drippin'"...

This is the sports equivalent of the guy who yells at the restaurant server, thinking it will impress the people he's out with.

An easy tell.

You know Jerry Jones was thinking about it...

I love Andy Reid.

The Dallas Bicentennial is maybe the best uniform in the league.

Class move from Derek Carr.

Meanwhile, Michael Thomas...

I'm just glad to see Bryce Young happy.

My first move if I were NFL Commissioner:

Let the coaches go back to suits on the sideline.

I don't know how good he'll be. But Drake Maye knows how to lead a team.

Not going to lie. I didn't like the move to Russell Wilson

That's why Mike Tomlin will be in the Hall Of Fame.

I love Ryan Fitzpatrick.

In case you needed a reminder. Golf is hard.

Minnesota's Cam Bynum with Celebration Of The Week.

Fran Brown takes losing hard.

#Footballguy.

Thanks to Hutchison Brown for that one.

This is what a Dead Man Walking looks like.

Class move from Patrick Mahomes II.

Wrapping with this one.

I don't care what side or end of the political spectrum you're on; I've long believed the "other" side is not as bad as we've been led to believe.

I understand why media companies and politicians want us to believe the other side is evil. It's good for clicks, which is good for business. And it's a cheap trick to unite "your" side by making "their" side out to be the villain.

I don't completely buy it. Some days I don't buy it at all. I think we have lots more in common than not. And I think most folks are good at heart and want mostly the same things. It's my hope and prayer that we can lean into finding the things we're for together. Instead of fighting so much over the differences.

On that note, I love this video from Neal Foard. I've had the good fortune to experience a lot of different places in our country. East to West. North to South. City and Rural. And I find the people to be good. Neal's story resonated with me, and I hope it resonates with you.

Rock on.

Thanks to Matt Waldman for the help with that one. And thank you for being part of this goofy journey with us.

And thanks to Footballguys Keith Overton, Jake Bryant, Matt Waldman and Clayton Gray for the help. If you've got a Random Shot of your own, email me at bryant@footballguys.com.

Thanks for playing along, and I hope you make the most of whatever you're doing in your life. Love your neighbor and stick together.

Peace and Grace to you.

J
