Hi Folks,

We do a ton of insightful, thoughtful, and serious features here at Footballguys with smart people thinking deeply for you.

This is not one of those features.

This is Random Shots, and it's a few pages of me sharing all the random goofiness from this week. With maybe a music note and sometimes a "soap box" wrap at the end.

He was quick to clarify that this wasn't a shot at Tennessee.

Sure, maybe Random Shots QB1 Jameis Winston returned to Earth a bit. 

He's still my quarterback.

Nick Saban's getting comfortable with this TV gig.

I love the Athletic.

But their actual headline of "Jason Kelce slams fan’s phone on ground, exchanges homophobic slurs after insult about Travis dating Taylor Swift" is an example of what's wrong when Search Engine Optimization and packing in every possible keyword rules everything.

Dang.

"The Chiefs won two Super Bowls between Daniel Jones’ most recent two passing touchdowns at MetLife stadium."

I'm conflicted.

On one hand, I don't hate Derek Carr.

On the other, I think wins are a QB stat.

Some things are not forgotten.

I don't care if this makes me a "Get Off My Lawn Guy." There's some truth here.

Dude needs to switch to decaf. Or maybe find a new, less stressful line of work.

Of course, like most fun things, it goes back to professional wrestling...

Sunday, the Colts and Vikings featured a classic uniform matchup.

They've been doing this for a while.

Revelation.

Don't ever give up.

 

Wrapping this one with a meme and a music note. 

Funny on the surface. But there's a deeper reality. I don't know about you, but I like doing exactly what I want. Without anyone telling me I can't or offering even the slightest restrictions. The truth is I don't get to do anything and everything I want. And that's ok. Because it's not all about me. And that's ok too. 

The Rolling Stones illustrate this perfectly with their classic song. And of the many versions available, I think my favorite is this one from the early days of the Pandemic when many of us were separated. I remember watching this the first time and smiling as each guy's camera came online. This was the last video appearance Charlie Watts did with the band. 

It's a good word for all of us.

Rock on.
